Begin with pickup at your Penang hotel, then travel to George Town in a private vehicle. See the 19th-century St. George’s Church, which is listed as one of the 50 National Treasures of Malaysia. Continue to the Taoist Goddess of Mercy Temple, built in 1800 by members of the Hokkien and Cantonese communities.

Explore Penang’s Hindu heritage in the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, where sculpted figures of gods and goddesses keep watch over the temple entrance. Visit either Khoo or Cheah Kongsi, clan houses where Chinese settler families created self-government, educational opportunities, and social organizations. Continue to Kapitan Keling Mosque, a grand building in the heart of George Town’s Tamil Muslim neighborhood.
