Tour guide stole my wife’s credit card out of her purse while we got out of car to take pictures and fraudulently charged $1,000 on card. Will never use viator again to book experiences.

The remarks from the customer were incredibly insulting and racially charged. As a business owner, I contacted the customer to seek an explanation. During the discussion, they mentioned that the card was used in person two hours away from the location where they supposedly used it. Additionally, another transaction was made in Ireland. How could the tour guide be in Ireland when he was supposed to be with them? Furthermore, they were unhappy from the outset upon seeing a brown person giving the tour; they expected a white individual, which reflects a certain bias. It's just how some people are. They did not leave their bag in the car even for a minute. When I spoke to the driver, he was outside the car, speaking on the phone while they were walking. There is no proof whatsoever that the driver has done anything wrong. It is absurd to accuse someone based on their skin colour. Maybe this is just the direction our world is heading.

This was a highlight of our trip to England. A must see if you’re in London. Roy was our tour guide and driver. Picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at our hotel in London. He took us to villages you would never see on your own. Very knowledge and a great safe driver. Highly recommend. Beautiful area. Thanks Viator.. you never disappoint us!

We paid extra for pick-up and drop-off at Oxford. Despite we emphasized to be dropped off at Oxford train station, our guide Roy still dropped us off at Oxford Parkaway station. We had to buy extra train tickets to go back to Oxford and almost missed our train to London. After I complained to the office they refunded us the extra train fare we paid. There was a mix up at pick up time too but the office is very responsive. Overall the tour was very good. We saw a lot of interesting and beautiful places. Cotswold is definitely worth visiting and private tour makes travelling around the area very convenient.

I’m not sure I get all the hype! We had spent a week in Cornwall (which I loved), and this tour was honestly a bit disappointing. I had heard that every village is stinkin’ cuter than the last, but since we went to more obscure places than the ‘cute’ tourist areas it was a lot of just walking around looking at lovely old cottages and houses for hours. We actually talked more about non-Cotswold subjects in the car (quite a bit of driving), so didn’t get a sense of true history other than everything is REALLY old. We stayed in Bibury, so the meeting location was local (but I think the cost would have included a pick up from a much further location, and it cost no less to be staying in the Cotswolds unfortunately).
Overall, it was just ‘good’. Glad we got a taste of the Cotswolds for a few days, but it honestly didn’t live up to all the hype I had heard about the area. Hard to say if a bus tour going to all the touristy high streets (which would have been less expensive, but it would have been a group tour (not private) and probably filled with a lot of shopping) would have been better or worse overall. I’m glad we did the tour, just afterward felt like I preferred the natural beauty and wide open spaces of Cornwall (and its tours) over the Cotswolds.

We had a truly exceptional day in the Cotswolds with our guide, Mo! He made wise choices of locations, even when we insisted upon visiting Bibury (not worth the time!) and was very informative without overwhelming us. We would definitely hire him again!

It was such a wonderful day exploring the Cotswolds. The itinerary was marvelous and John Batchelor, our guide made sure we got to see anything specific we wanted. He was so knowledgeable and entertaining, with a wonderful wit. He kept us laughing and the day just flew by. We couldn't have asked for anything better. This tour was by far the highlight of our trip and would highly recommend it to all. Ask for John!

There was a mix-up regarding the time of the tour start, so we began 25 minutes late. Otherwise the tour was wonderful! We got a good sense of the history, economy, and geology of the Cotswolds.

A wonderful way to travel and get to see so many different villages in a reasonable amount of time. Our driver and tour guide, Mo, was extremely knowledgeable. He brought us to villages where they were virtually no tourists and for the more popular ones we got there early to avoid the crowds.

If you book this tour, do not leave your valuables in the car as you explore the various locations on foot. My spouse and I booked this tour, and the tour itself was fantastic – one of our favorite excursions during our UK trip. We stopped at several charming little towns and villages, and the driver assured us that we could leave our backpacks in the car while we explored and that our valuables would be safe. A couple of days after we returned home, there was a charge from the company that provides this tour in the amount of $624. We booked this tour through Viator and had already paid for it through Viator at the time of booking. The fraudulent charge that we received after returning home was on a corporate credit card that I have in my wallet (which was in the backpack that we left in the car) and is only used for business expenses. The valid charge that was paid when we booked was made on a personal card, and my corporate card was never associated with this purchase in any way. The only way that my corporate card information could have been obtained by this company is either by stealing it from my backpack while we were out exploring on foot or by using some sort of NFC scanner in the car. At most stops, the driver would direct us to walk along a certain path while he either stayed behind until we returned or met us at a different location at the end of our path. This gave the driver ample time and opportunity to go through our bags. This is a fraudulent operation that preys on unsuspecting tourists and should be banned from Viator. Do not book with this company.

Nick was positively brilliant as our guide. He knows the Cotswolds like the back of his hand. He took us through back roads between villages for spectacular views. He offered insightful comments, bits of history, and delightfully special stops and photo opportunities. We were lucky to meet Nick for our tour. Seriously, ask for Nick.

We saw a lot and walked around, too. I feel like we got a good overview of the Cotswolds. Our guide picked us up in Oxford. There had been a serious accident on a major road but he knew all the backroads. We even saw where he grew up and his family’s business had been.

Mo was an excellent guide. Our train was delayed by an hour due to technical issues, but he made the most of our time and was extremely respectful for one of our party who was slightly mobility impaired —informative, the ultimate gentleman with manners, and made timely suggestions tailored to our requests…highly recommend this tour!

Ryan was wonderful! We got just what we hoped for - a beautiful and relaxing day of the villages of the magical Cotswolds. Ryan is a true local who knows the Cotswolds and beyond. He took us to villages tucked in so tight we didn’t see another soul, we took a random walk with sheep and enjoyed a lovely lunch with great conversation. It was a 10 star day. Thank you Ryan!
