This was a very long tour but well worth it.
There were stops along the way to stretch and grab a bite to eat. When we reached Mt cook
Didn’t think we could do the hike up. Was very tiring and pretty high up there. But so glad we did the view of the glaciers was so spectacular. Took a lot of pictures. Hike down was much easier. Saw another path lake view wish I could have seen that one too. But it took us to long to climb up the mountain. When we got the bus they took us to where the trails was where we had our free time. A lot of different hikes to take. Which we ended up by a suspension bridge which was so pretty. After went to high county salmon.
The salmon was so fresh and delicious had to hurry up and eat was only there for a short time. Then went to the orchard where we bought some goodies there .
Can’t remember the drivers name. Did a really good job.We had done so many different tours but we would highly recommend this one if you want to venture out.

I felt that the description of the tour was misleading. It was more like ordering a car to drive us around than any insights and descriptions. The description also mentioned specifically pointing out lord of the rings shooting sites which were of great interest to us. Unfortunately our guide knew nothing about that. Still had a great time and was beautiful scenery, just did not feel like we got our money’s worth for a small group tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry the tour didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding the insights and the Lord of the Rings locations you were hoping to see.
We understand how disappointing that must have been, and we’ll be reviewing both our tour description and guide preparation to ensure this is clearer and more consistent moving forward.
We’re glad you still enjoyed the scenery, and we truly appreciate you sharing your experience with us.

Raghav was very good and imparted his vast knowledge of the area. He also made sure people had a good time and kept people going. Mt. Cook and the Tasman Glacier were amazing, as was Lake Pukaki. If you are able, book a helicopter tour onto Tasman Glacier if you can. Amazing views!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Sounds like you had a great experience with Raghav. Truly a special place to visit. Thank you for travelling with us.
Richard_F, Feb 2026
This is a fantastic day out and covers plenty. Optional add on is the helicopter ride up to view Mount Cook close and personal

Fantastic small-group tour with stunning scenery the entire way. Stops at Lake Pukaki, Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park, and the Tasman Glacier viewpoint were breathtaking and perfect for photos. The Blue Lakes walk was easy and rewarding, and the local stops like High Country Salmon and Jackson Orchards added a nice touch.
A well-organized, stress-free way to see the Southern Alps in one day. Highly recommend!

It was a wonderful drive. I loved the view of mt cook and suspension bridgeYou got close enough you felt you can touch it. I liked that we stopped at a salmon store. The sushi was best I have had. Also, the fruit store had delicious dried fruits and nuts.

Hello - it sounds like you had a wonderful day which is what our guides do their best to achieve for you.
Seeing our beautiful country and especially Mt Cook is very special. Now is the time of the year to experience eating all our lovely fruit as it is just coming into season here. Enjoy the rest of your stay

Joseph was a fabulous guide. The walks we got to go one were so lovely. I really like this tour company, I have now been on multiple tours with them this trip. All guides are super friendly and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about the history & nature of the area as we drove to and from queenstown

What are the chances - we had Holly again for our Mt Cook and Tasman Glacier tour! After such a great experience with her on the Milford Sound trip, it was an amazing surprise to see her the very next day.
She was just as knowledgeable, organised, and thoughtful throughout the entire journey, adding so much insight and making everything feel smooth and enjoyable. Two days in a row with such an exceptional guide - we definitely felt lucky!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thanks for your review!. We love it when our guests turn up on our numerous other tours around New Zealand. Soooo Good that you met up with our lovely Holly....Yes you were lucky to get her back she is in Hot demand!!

It was a great experience! The view is out of this world. I strongly recommend this tour. Our tour guide/driver doesn't talk much while we were on the road but the most important thing is that he arrived to our destinations in one piece. I strongly recommend this trip.

A glorious day in New Zealand! Just beautiful scenery and a fabulous weather day. Felix was a great guide and took wonderful care of our group. I really enjoyed the two hikes we did and the stops at the cafe and at the end for ice cream were really cute. Would recommend this trip!

The bridge to Hooker Valley was closed due to weather. We should have been allowed a full refund....
prem_S, Jul 2025
Unpredictable weather caused change of plan but still great day Jason suggested alternatives and the group had a great time. It was snowing in Mt Cook, it was like Christmas for our kids. Loved it and went Wanaka as an additional stop to fill the day with enough to do. Highly recommend it to anyone travelling solo or with companions. Stops had brilliant coffee too.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for the lovely review! We're so glad Jason's quick thinking kept the day fun and memorable—snow in Mt Cook really is a magical bonus! Delighted you enjoyed Wanaka and found some great coffee along the way. Appreciate the recommendation!

The tour are quite interesting and nice.
Just need a guide that more attentive to the tour participants.
Sara_Z, Apr 2025
Beautiful in every season. Fall adds another layer of natural beauty with the tree leaf colors changing. Be ready for any kind of weather. Go with flexibility in mind, the trip may be different if the weather changes which it often does.

Gorgeous hike that wasn’t too hard and super knowledgeable driver and tour guide! Would recommend to anyone!
anil_p, Mar 2025
What an amazing hike, the views were incredible. Jeff the guide was very knowledgeable on our drive out to Mr. Cook. We made a few other stops during the tour for food and bathrooms. Would recommend to anyone looking to get outdoors
Carleton_m, Mar 2025
The hike was good, but we were rushed by the 3 hour limit, and had no time to enjoy the beautiful location! The hike should be scheduled for 4 hours.
Sarah_F, Feb 2025
Greg was a great guide for the long dive to Mount Cook. He stopped at scenic points, made sure we were comfortable, and had interesting commentary. We had favorable weather so the Hooker Valley Track was busy, but still beautiful.
Christophor_J, Feb 2025
Beautiful drive to the hooker valley through Lindis Pass. No need to rush th Hooker Valley hike yes you are given only 3 hours to do the walk but l easily walked to the lake and back within 2 and half ours. I found other guests in the carpark on my return as they turned back to early and they were only a couple of Minutes walk from the Lake which is well worth the view with ice on the lake. The scenery was wonderful and Lynette our tour guide was wonderful with lots of local knowledge . Definitely would book another tour with Cheeky Kiwi

What an incredibly beautiful site to visit! We stopped at a couple spots on the way over and had some breakfast and picked up something for lunch. We were expecting it to be cold for our hike - we were very wrong! It was a very hot day and the sun was shining - so it was very warm on our hike. I had to buy a t-shirt on the way there. Bring sunscreen - the sun is very strong. The views along the entire hike were amazing! You have to stay on track to get there and back but it’s very doable. My only complaint would be how hot it was in the bus after the hike - it took a long time for the air to kick in. We made a couple stops on the way home - the fruit stand and the ice cream were great. Would highly recommend this tour! Jeff was our guide and he did a great job!

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Chris. The drive was beautiful and Chris shared many interesting and fun facts and stories about the area and New Zealand as a whole. Chris had also prepared a very well curated playlist for the drive, making the car ride very relaxing and enjoyable. The time alloted to the hike itself (3 hrs) was a little short as we really had to hurry to ensure we got a few minutes to sit and admire Aoraki/mt. Cook before we had to walk back to the car. But all in all we had a fantastic day with a great guide!

Beautiful sceneries with snowy mountain caps, pleasant walk & exploring nature. Well worth going on the trip.
Shuyi_C, Nov 2024
The tour guide is the best. He explained things very well and took us to a variety of great places besides Mt Cook. We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.
Callum_B, Oct 2024
This was a perfect day trip. The scenery is exceptional and you are given plenty of time to take photos on the way and then to hike the trail. You also get the option to book a scenic flight or helicopter ride, which was a nice touch. Kelsey was an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guide.
Damien_D, Oct 2024
This trip was a great experience. The pick up was on time. The guide's microphone wasn't working in the morning, but he made his best effort to speak louder to be heard from the back of the van, and the company was able to switch vans while we were hiking, so the mic was working on our way back. Being in a small group was enjoyable, we were able to ask lots of questions to the guide, and learn to know fellow passengers. The first part of the road is a little bit twisty and can give motion sickness if you're sensitive, so prepare yourself. But the sights along the way are fabulous and really worth it. The hike from the Mt Cook base is 5 km one way and you get beautiful views of Mt Cook and its glacier. The hike trail ends with a panorama view on the montain and the melted snow lake at its base, still with big blocks of ice. Our guide gave us a lot of information during the hike. Overall, it's a 5 star experience!
