We had a great experience in el cerro negro. Our tour guide was Carlos and he was great, he was helpful, informative and patient . He was friendly and knew so much about the volcano and about the surrounding culture. Would definitely do again and ask for Carlitos again!

This was amazing! It was just the two of us and two guides, who were so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel safe even though it was a crazy experience. I went very slowly and my husband went way faster, and we both had a whale of a time and thankfully avoided any injuries doing this extreme sport.

Luis is an outstanding guide—passionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. From start to finish, he ensures everyone feels comfortable and safe while sharing fascinating insights about Nicaragua’s volcanoes and natural wonders. The journey to the top offers breathtaking views, and the descent is an exhilarating, adrenaline-filled adventure! Luis and their colleague go the extra mile to capture the best photos for you, making the experience even more memorable. To top it off, refreshing fruit and a drink are provided at the end, which is a perfect way to recharge after the effort. Highly recommended!

Carlos was a great tour guide! On the way to the volcano, he talked about different things that we were seeing, peanut fields, farms, etc. The hike up Cerro Negro was medium-difficulty. It was a bit hot, so, definitely bring water. The ground was made up of black sand and lava rocks - slippery at times, so, having a good grip shoes is a must. The views during the hike up were breathtaking. We saw 4 craters, sulphur smoke, and felt the ground be very very hot.
Slide down the side of the volcano was amazing! At first a bit scary to start, but once we felt the speed, it was a lot of fun, and we swooshed down in no time. A great and unique experience for everyone to try!

Grest guys! It was a pleasure fo us!

The hike up was worth it by itself - seeing both cauldron formations and the hot ground up on top of the cone was crazy cool! Topography and views were incredible - so worth dealing with the 70mph sustained winds, yes, nearly knocked us off our feet several times. Outstanding.
And the ride down? No go standing for the first 50 ft due to lack of slope, but after that was able to stand the rest of the way. Quite a rush for a skier who doesn't snowboard. Recommend this enthusiastically! And Carlos was an excellent guide.
THANK YOU!!!

1 hour of hiking for 60 seconds of fun.... and well worth it. Really enjoyed learning about this baby volcano as we hiked up. The guide was personable, fun, and well educated. Great experience, highly recommended!

We loved our experience and had a great time! Just the drive out to the volcano was well worth the money. Make sure you bring something to cover your head that will stay on even when it's windy. I didn't and was picking pieces of rock out of my hair for days afterwards even after taking a shower. I'd also suggest bringing a face mask to keep the rocks out of your mouth. Also, be prepared for a long walk up the volcano.

Excellent guide, once in a lifetime experience, awesome!
The views are stunning and the ride down is so much fun.
The hike up is a little tough for the those lacking in strength.

The trip was really nice. The hike is short and quite easy. The view from the top is beautiful and is worth the trip by itself. For those who are scared of the way down, don't be ! It's really easy to manage your speed depending on how you sit up or lay down on the board. The descent is fun and easy. Our guide was very nice and smily and he answered well to all our questions. He always made sure we were ok on the way up, pausing regularly to let us have a sip of water or take pictures. I highly recommend this activity and will certainly do it again if I come back to Nicaragua.

This adventure was incredible. There is no experience like this in the world that is for sure. You start by hiking up the volcano with your sled and gear. This is the toughest part and in that hot central American heat is NOT for the faint of heart. Once you make it to the top though. WOW. The views and amazing. You can feel the volcano heat just a little and if you dig the ground up a little the dirt is hot.
Then you ride down after a brief tutorial and gearing up. The ride is about a minute and you can completely control the speed with your feet. It's take a second to manage but once you get going you are set. Thrill seekers can lift your feet for the fast ride.

Muchas gracias! Ha sido un placer para nosotros! Normalmente siempre los guías andan sus botiquines. Voy a revisar qué pasó esta vez.
