Itinerary

Your Famagusta day trip begins with hotel pickup in Kyrenia, Nicosia or Famagusta and a private transfer with a driver/guide to St. Barnabas Monastery and Icon Museum. Stop here for a two-hour private tour to learn about the live of Barnabas and visit the saint’s tomb before continuing on to the Salamis ruins. Spend about an hour exploring the ancient site with your guide and admire highlights like the gymnasium, theatre, Roman baths.

Afterwards, head to Famagusta for a walking tour of its medieval walled old town. Stroll past sights like the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, NamIk Kemal ZindanI ve Muzesi, and the Varosha abandoned quarter and learn more about the city’s history and architecture before the return transfer to your hotel.

A must do sightseeing trip!

Brilliant trip. Great to spend the day with our wonderful guide Sirin and see and hear some of the history of Cyprus. Best part was seeing some of the ‘ghost town’ of Famagusta. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Sirin was an absolute joy to spend the day with. I had known a littl bit of history regarding North Cyprus, but she went above and beyond in explaining the history surrounding the ghost town (my highlight of the trip) as well as the other sites we saw. I highly recommend this tour. It’s a must see when visiting Cyprus, and with Sirin you won’t be disappointed!

We had an amazing day visiting the St. Barnabas monastery, the ruins in Salamis, the abandoned city of Varosha, admiring the gothic architecture in Famagusta with the lovely Sirin. Her passion for Cyprus history makes her a great guide. Totally recommend to book a day trip with her!
