Got a tour of kilkenny with a knight (Dylan). Great history of kilkenny, Ireland, castles, lot's of humor, and lore of medieval armor and weapons.

We happened to be the only 2 on the tour (mid 40`s) Dylan was a lovely guy, knew the history very well. He must have been boiling in his armour, it was 28 degrees the day we went. Great tour for families, laid back and informative not too much walking. Would highly recommend.

What an authentic, fun, enlightening, and enjoyable experience. While he may have failed History Class (his words), his marks as a tour guide and Kilkenny evangelist are second to none! If you’re looking for more than just a rehearsed tour, this is the experience you’re looking for. The cost should easily be triple what he charges, so tip accordingly!

Hearing about the history and seeing the buildings that have been in the town for hundreds of years. The ancient weaponry was also interesting to see and to learn how it was used.

We had a wonderful on the walking tour of Kilkenny with our knight in shining armour. The small group made it very special and we loved the opportunity to have photos in a tower with his sword and medieval equipment. Highly recommend doing this tour for something a bit different.

Even though our tour guide Dylan said he failed on his history exam, he knew everything inside and out of kilkenny, especially the road markings and the penny feathered Lane which took an interest in me. I absolutely adored his Knight outfit that he got to show us and the helmet followed on with the 3 different types of swords. The other scene which took an interest in me was when he shared the poem of hurling cats to us. I thought that was an absolute lovely poem to share amongst us while touring with him throughout certain parts of the city. I would absolutely love to go back again real soon in the summer to explore certain parts of kilkenny to visit. Thank you so very much Dylan for taking the time out with us to show us what medeveil was like back in the days.

We ended up having a private tour on a Friday with Dylan. It was an interesting way to see the town of Kilkenny. Our tour guide was a good storyteller and was a little quirky in the best way. He was very funny and took us to a few great sites and gave us good suggestions to check other things out after the tour was completed.

So much fun! We highly recommend this tour. It's the perfect amount of walking, stories and sights. Dillon is a wonderful guide and quite funny too. Be sure to ask about "hurling cats". 😉

Dylan was a fantastic tour guide!!!! He arrived promptly and we set off on a fantastic tour through Kilkenny, with the perfect balance of history, humor and banter throughout. Dylan is clearly proud of being a Kilkenny local and has deep knowledge of the region and its fascinating history. My son (8 years old) loved walking around with a knight, and especially loved our stop at a medieval tower, when Dylan gave my son the opportunity to try out his sword and get a closer look at his armor. Would absolutely recommend Dylan and the Knight for Hire tour for families and history lovers of all ages!
