Overview
Making an appearance in Homer’s Odyssey, Mount Taygetos is one of the oldest named mountains in Europe. Climb its flanks on this guided trek, starting from Manganiari Spring at 5,000 feet (1,550 meters). An 8.4-mile (13.5-kilometer) hike in total, you’ll wander sacred limestone formations, alpine meadows, deep gorges and ravines, and emerge above it all at nearly 8,000 feet (2,407 meters).
