Excellent tour with John. Our guide was prompt, informative and helpful. The first half was a walking tour of downtown, including government buildings, squares and parks, but also the historic center with Concubine Lanes and historic shop houses. We also stopped for a visit to the birthplace of a local herbal tea shop that over the years evolved into a well known Hovid pharmaceutical company. John was a fountain of detailed information and anecdotes related to history of every building, establishment and back alley in our path. After a tasty lunch at a local restaurant we continued by car to cave temples in the outskirts of the city. I might addd that caves were “flat” and physically not challenging even for older tourists. The tour started at 8:30 in the morning and ended around 4:30pm, which left plenty of time for other activities on our schedule. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend this activity.

Our guide John was super knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of Malaysia and the Ipoh area. The cave temples were by far the most interesting and dramatic parts of the tour. The town of Ipoh less so.

We had a great private tour with John who was our guide for the day. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the ride. He had deep knowledge of the history of the places and was ever ready to answer our questions. He went above and beyond when we requested to purchase some local delights and introduced us to his favourites. We had an enjoyable day.

The whole day was terrific. There was no rush but we visited more sites than our itinery promised. Great food and the information we were given was so interesting. Very comfortable vehicle. More than we had anticipated

A fun day, good weather. Only spent time at temples and Kellie's Castle as I had done "Old Town" a few days before. Loved the slower pace. It allowed for a greater appreciation of the temples and their history. No rushing about trying to get it all in. Simon was an excellent guide and very willing to engage in conversation and answers all of my many questions and curiosities.
