Madawa was a kowledgable and friendly guide. Talked about cricket and some politics before start. Tour is approximately 1 and a half hours so bring a hat and water. There is a small climb at Clocktower. Overall, a great way to see Galle Fort.
I enjoyed my walking tour of the old Galle town. Madawa is a local so the tour felt more personal and interesting.
Unlike most walking tours this was a little over an hour which is perfect in the heat/sunshine.
Wow, what an amazing and informative walking tour. Our guide Madawa was absolutely awesome, his knowledge of not only Galle fort but Sri Lankan history as a whole, was incredible & his English was fluent

It’s a good high level historic walking tour and Madawa took us around all four points of the old town and told us stories about each spot. He knew answers to all questions and was patient with us while we took photos. Small group which was great. Very hot in the middle of the day so bring a hat and water.
Our guide Madawa met us early and was well spoken, polite and a very good guide. He showed us the key points and explained the history og the old fort city as we walked. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the fascinating history of this UNESCO listed city.

Fantastic, Madawa was a great guide and it’s a perfect leisurely stroll around the fort. Recommend a late afternoon tour and then off to dinner.
Thought this was a great tour. About the right length at 1.5 hours as it was hot. Madara, our guide, spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable - also had a lovely speaking voice and good sense of humour! Only slight criticism would be that the group was a bit large so it was difficult for everyone to hear and move around.

Madawa was on time and approached me by name which was nice. His English was excellent, and he has a good knowledge of Galle history. He was so personable - we connected on lots of things - cricket, dogs, outlook on life. He is a very positive and kind person, with a strong career in tourism and hospitality. The guide is superb, fantastic English and he mixes key facts about Galle with general information about life in Sri Lanka
All in all it’s about a 90 minute stroll mostly around the walls but also in town taking in the key features and looking at the architecture. Really good value

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is coming to Galle for the first time! We learned so much in just a short amount of time with this guide. He was punctual and started on time. He shared a lot of information about Galle but also Sri Lanka itself. He was open and willing to answer any questions about his country. He is extremely knowledgeable.

Madawa is extremely knowledgeable but what is amazing about him was how his knowledge extends beyond just Galle. It is social, political, cultural and there is some satire thrown in too. Loved his walk.
Although the weather was poor, we still did the route around the fort. My guide was informative and knowledgeable and I felt in had a much better understanding of Galle when we had finished.
this is a good tour. madhaba knows his stuff, has been around a lot and speak his mind freely on a variety of issues about Galle in specific and Sri Lanka in general.
Madawa was the best guide we could have asked for. He is charismatic, humorous, and most importantly, endlessly knowledgeable about the history of Galle. He also taught us about Sri Lankan politics, climate, animals, social differences etc. Our experience with Madawa was a stand out for our whole trip.
