I will personally pick you up and drop you back from any reasonable distance from Sector 17, Chandigarh, in my comfortable AC car. After the tour ends, you will be dropped back at your hotel, Airbnb, or any other location in Chandigarh as needed. Please message me regarding short-duration one-day trips. Special arrangements to directly pick you up early morning from the airport/ railway station and drop you off back to the station/airport at no additional charge can be arranged.

Fantastic experience with Rusty in Chandigarh for a "most of the day" tour. Rusty was well-informed and a pleasure to spend the day with; tour was well-paced and covered a very good amount of ground, including being flexible with requests (was just myself, my wife and a third guest). Appreciated the pick-up and drop from hotel. Strongly recommend for a Chandigarh visit.

I am a woman traveling solo. The tour with Rusty was great! I highly recommend it if you want to learn about Chandigarh’s layout and architecture. I visited other cities in India, and Rusty was by far the best guide I had there. In addition, he speaks perfect English, which allowed me to ask him about different aspects of Indian culture. Rustom provides a deep dive into Chandigarh’s fascinating history, with Jeanneret and Corbusier serving as a springboard for two days of great conversation and site visits. As a third generation local, he offers perspectives and insider knowledge that books and maps alone can’t match. He sincerely loves his city and makes that feeling contagious. Hours of effortless conversation flowed naturally and I felt I got a deeper understanding of a place than I’ve experienced with other city guides over the years. Plus he knows all the places to stop for meals and snacks, providing options to suit various tastes and diets (the Indian Coffee House was a personal highlight). On top of all this, he’s a great driver! I highly recommend this tour even if you’re not an architecture buff - you’ll have fun getting to know this remarkable city.

I chose this tour based on the description and reviews, with little prior knowledge of Chandigarh. I'm glad I did! Rusty clearly knows and cares about about Chandigarh. It felt like a long-time friend was sharing their favorite sites & stops. I really appreciated the flexibility. Rusty adapted to my constraints, preferences, and personality, and adjusted our schedules and stops to make the best use of time. For each meal or snack, he presented several options to choose from. I hope to return with family, and this tour will be a highlight!

This tour was excellent. Rusty was an extremely well informed and charming host.
Due to an unexpected public holiday being declared the previous evening, meaning key sites were closed, he still filled a full day with several fascinating visits and the best lunch we have had in India at the Jullundur Hotel.
The highlight for us was the rock garden , which was frankly world class. We had no idea!
He led the tour with humour and a real insight into life in India
By the end we all agreed that Chandigarh underpromises and overdelivers! We all intend to come back with our families. And we will all sign up for the Rusty experience!

Fabulous day finding out the stories behind the building of Chandigarh, India’s most unique city. Who would have thought a city’s administrative complex or its university campus would be so fascinating?

Funny, charming, smart, and passionate about his city. If you’re here for the architecture tour, you won’t do better. If you’re unsure about a whole day of architecture, you still want this tour. You’ll learn tons, and be amazed, Rusty knows his stuff, but this is not a stuffy tour. It’s like hanging out with your sharp-witted friend who is also one of the smartest people you know, showing you around one of the most interesting and unique cities in India. Not just Corbusier and Jeanneret, add in the best coffee and lunch stops, and find out why Chandigarh is India’s best kept secret. I don’t always book tours when I travel. Often, I like to find my own way around. I’m so glad I booked this tour; it really is one of the best ever. I wish I had booked the two-day tour.

This was a fantastic 2 day tour of Chandigarh. Rusty was an incredible guide and very passionate about what he does and it shows. The pacing of the tour was great and I appreciated the stops for lunch based on my preferences. As an architect this was a must for my visit to India and this was by far the best tour I have done so far. Getting access to some of the harder to visit sites such as the Capitol complex was fantastic and loved learning more about the life and works of Le Corbusier and Jean Jeanneret and the many other unsung local designers involved. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a comprehensive tour of Chandigarh.

Rusty is a little eccentric, very well-informed and knowledgeable person that really helped me understand Chandigarh's origins, which cannot be understood through the lens of architecture alone, but needs also the overall town planning and social context which underpin 'new towns' from Edinburgh to Brasilia.
