Overview
Explore Bagan and its surroundings by bike on a half-day tour led by a local guide. We were staying in Old Bagan and had to find our way to new Bagan to find our guide but this was surprisingly easy. We were greeted with great bikes already set up for our height and helmets. The previous day we had hired a taxi and toured some of the main temples. However, exploring the temples on a bike meant we could go off the beaten track and explore some 'Indian Jones' style temples and hardly saw any tourists during the whole tour. It was amazing to get that close to living history. Our guide was so knowledgeable, as we explored ancient villages, the Bagan market, 11th Century temples and monastery ruins with views across the horizon of dozens of temples. Refreshments were included in the day from water, mid morning snacks and noodles and steamed buns at a Bagan teahouse. The price included a drop off back at our hotel. I would say it was exceptionally hot so pack some suntan lotion. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Myanmar. Thank you and would definitely recommend as exceptional value for money. Can't wait to do it on our next trip to Myanmar.

This was my favourite Grasshopper tour out of all the ones I've done in Myanmar.
It covered some essentials as well as some less known places. The lunch was one of the best meals I've had in Myanmar and the guide was super competent in providing the necessary info. The fact this one included drop off at hotel, made it super value. Highly recommended for your first days in Bagan.
