Itinerary

With your booking voucher in hand, head into central London to start your sightseeing adventure at any of the numerous stops around town. The open-top double-decker buses operate on three different routes—blue, red, and green—and offer a wide selection of places to get on and off.

How long you stay onboard is up to you. Disembark at stops such as Buckingham Palace, Brompton Road for shopping at Harrods, or the Victoria and Albert Museum for art and culture in the center of town. Alternatively, use the hop-on hop-off tour ticket to reach the start point for your river cruise or self-guided walking tour. Both are included as “extras” with multi-day tour tickets.

Hop back on the bus as many times as you wish in the 1-day, 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour duration of your ticket, and listen to audio commentary in 11 languages to learn about the sights as you ride.

Waited 45 minutes with no bus

The Victor was not able to provide an itinerary. I asked in the app for help the day before and got no response. The tour company did not tell us that certain stops were closed that day. The citySightseeing app shows active buses, but the app doesn’t tell you that certain stops are closed. I chatted in the app and it said the spot we were at was active that day from 9am to 19pm , we waited at spot 12 for 45 minutes before giving up and walking to spot 10. I asked if spot 12 was closed and they said yes. That’s an important detail they should tell everyone and the app should make that clear.

The recorded audio sometimes didn’t line up with the location leaving us looking around for the landmarks. Also would be nice to have a list of stops on the details of the booking. We walked about 20-30minutes and had to ask other operators where to find the location closest to our hotel.

Nice but not perfect.

In general, it went as described in the description. The audio guide in route was helpful. The details however did not at work as well. The hop on/ hop off buses are run by 3 or more companies so you have to wait for and get on the correct bus line. The first bus did not leave early enough for us to make it to our tour so ended up needing public bus for first ride of the day. These buses have their own stops different from the public stops so you have to find them. The wait seemed long so get the app that shows where the bus is on its loop.

Cycling day

The exoerience in a "normal day" would have been good, but due to the cyclist cutting off roads far away from the hotel and walking with luggage, navigation was challenging and we were unable to enjoy this experience as my ankle was injured and our hotel was by the tower bridge; We did not utilize this trip. My money was wasted. Even our Tower Bridge/Crown jewel was closed due to the cyclist and luckily I had cancelled in time, but was never informed about this. Shouldn't you be aware of these events so people do not buy tickets to events that have been closed and money reurned. So, that is why I gave you a low rating.

We weee not able to find where we cook find where the bus was located. We asked our hotel about Viator. They had not heard of you. We were very disappointed. We did eventually find a place to tour. We had to paid double . So you need to communicate better with people where you can get on the bus.

We spent more time sitting in traffic than seeing any sights. It was very disappointing as I’ve gone on similar tours in different places & it was worth it. I do t know if it was because of busier traffic than usual or construction but we only did 1/2 of the loop before getting off the bus.

Great tour option however, purchasing through Viator leaves you without pertinent details regarding schedule, pick up locations, map etc. All in all Viator has been great but for this tour option, find a local site and make your purchase there until Viator confirms that it has uploaded relevant details and map link. We spent a good portion of our day trying to figure out where to go and how to enjoy. Ended up walking to next site instead. I'd have requested a refund however, once we were on, it was a very nice experience.

Absolutely no communication or info given by Aviator or City Sightseeing. Unfriendly telephone operator. Wish I had booked with Big Bus- their buses went everywhere! Requested refund same day as I was unable for using the ticket, no refund , no explanation. Had to take a taxi to get central London to find their bus for a dissapointing tour. Lucky google maps gave me more info about what I was seeing.

Way too hot to enjoy the ride

We have previously used city sightseeing in New Orleans so felt confident in using it here in London. We purchased the 72hr ticket that included the river and night tours. The booking advertises multiple routes with many frequent stops, yet we were unable to conveniently use this service due to many buses not showing up. We were disappointed in the functionality of this booking. Our biggest issue was the night tours- which was advertised as a few different evening time slots on any my purchased days to be redeemed once. I wanted to do the 9:45 pm time slot so I showed up to the departure location at 9:35 pm (because I like to be early to get the best seats), the bus never showed. I used the message feature on Viator and got no response. I decided to wait at the stop for the last departure (10:20)- the bus never showed, I messaged again and received no response. I was disappointed with both the functionality and convenience of the bus schedule and the communication of support. Requested a refund. You are better off purchasing a travel card at any of the nearby underground stations for much cheaper and more reliable service,

It is with great pleasure that I write this review of appreciation about Nathalie; she is deserving of such. Nathalie is to be highly commended for the way she handles her work responsibilities. I can tell that she cares about and truly enjoys her position along with the people who are in her care during the tours. Nathalie has been exemplary and her efforts and talents have contributed to an excellent tour to see the Changing of the Guards. She is quite knowledgeable about the guards as well as the history of England. We learned a great amount from her. Her quick responses, energy, and enthusiasm are attributes that I do not take for granted. Nathalie made every effort to ensure that the group was well taken care of, happy, and safe. Throughout the tour, she continued to communicate with us, explained all of the important information in detail, and provided a plethora of information every step of the way. She is refreshing and a bright asset to anyone she assists. In essence I feel that she did an outstanding job from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed. Without hesitation or reservation, I would highly recommend Nathalie and this tour.

Not recommended unless you want to waste a day trying to find the bus stops. Also the bus sat in certain spots for long periods of time. The green route never showed. Don’t go with the London City Tour. The should pite the website and app in the booking information so that folks can be aware of the agenda, starting and stopping times and very specific locations with names and landmarks. You’ll be very disappointed on this tour. If you go the second day, It might be slightly better depending on if the buses are running on schedule.

We chose your company based on the excellent reviews and were traveling as a group of 10 people, including several children, expecting a fun and engaging way to see London. Instead, the experience was unsafe, disorganized, and extremely underwhelming. As we boarded the bus, we were rushed onto it without any welcome or instructions from the driver. Before my children had even reached the upper deck and safely sat down, the driver began moving the bus, causing them to lose their balance and fall. There was no so-called fun tour guide, no live commentary, and no communication whatsoever. We had to figure everything out ourselves, and by then the experience was so bad we got off on the first stop and kids refused to get back on. What a waste.

When I arrive, the bus was broke down so we waited on a hot bus during a HOT season until another one bus came. once the other bus came we took the tour for maybe about 15 to 20 minutes and then the driver dropped us off in a location. We didn’t know anything about and abandoned us. Didn’t know where we were nor what was happening. No reason. I am very disappointed with this tour.

I suggest you wait and book a bus tour when you get to London. This company had far fewer buses than the other companies in the city and we had to wait for an hour at each stop. Also insufficient AC on the bus.

We waited by the London eye for over 40 minutes. Bus never showed. The sales attendant for city kept telling us it would be there soon. Didn’t help it was 95 degrees outside. We just gave up and walked around ourselves. Horrible service. Of course we noticed the buses around other areas but you can only get on at designated spots.

It was very convenient because we only had 1 day in London and it was a great way to see many of the important sites. Also, I recommend using the earbuds or bringing your own plug-in headphones. The commentary was great information with some humor but not too much information that it was overwhelming. My only complaint was that the buses were not as consistent as I would have liked. We had to wait over 20 minutes at one of the drop off points. Otherwise, worth the money and a good way to see many sites.

I've been on a number of hop-on, hop-off buses, but this was hands-down the worst. Our hotel was on the green line where we planned on starting the experience. Unfortunately, due to reasons not stated, they were operating that line on a reduced schedule. The weather was also less than ideal (rainy and cold-not the provider's fault, obviously) but because the upper deck was half covered, if you didn't have a covered seat, you had to go below. The views on the bottom are less than ideal. At one point, when the bus driver hit the brakes, a wave of water came forward and soaked my shoe. The rotation of buses and drivers made for a choppy experience. The route takes you over the Themes River a million times. We used the app and downloaded the audio to use our AirPods. It worked about half of the time. It would then catch up and you'd be hearing about something three stops ago. It was the third bus we got on before someone finally checked my ticket from the app and gave us our paper ticket. I'd recommend a different company than City Sightseeing if you want to have a good experience. I've used Big Bus in London before and had a much better experience.
