This was an excellent adventure that included a history of cacao, the bean-to-bar process, a chocolate tasting session which included different bars from 100% to 70%, and pouring our own chocolate into molds, making our own customized treats. Angelina was the Master of Ceremonies and was AWESOME!!!

We had a wonderful experience at the Choco Museo making our own chocolate bars, and learning about the entire process from bean to bar. We also got to taste a wide variety to chocolate from Peru, and several types of chocolate based drinks.
We had such a fun time and would highly encourage others to do this. You even get 10% off in the shop after the class, where they have more chocolate and tea mixtures. Super worth it!
Our tour of the chocolate museum was wonderful AND delicious!! Angelica did a terrific job teaching us about the history of chocolate and how it is made. Very "hands-on" experience!! I would highly recommend this tour!!
Fun chocolate making/history class. Guide is knowledgeable and friendly. History and influence of chocolate in peru is interesting. Recommend to anyone who likes chocolate
Great fun and very informative…would highly recommend for chocolate lovers. You make your own bars for a treat later.
The class was a lot of fun and learning about and making our own chocolate was a good time. Ana was great and we thought it was a good way to spend a morning in Lima.
A fun and informative experience. One star off for the following reason:
- we got all kinds of additions for making our pralines, from marshmallows to salt. Well, I like salted chocolate, so I added a bit of salt.. This made the whole bunch inedible, had to throw it away. My mistake of course, but it would be nice if they'd told us to be careful with this stuff, using only a few grains..
It’s not just making own chocolate but drinks from scratch, cacao beans. We also learned about cacao trade, history and chocolate making process. Educational experience
Learned a lot. Enjoyed our chocolate. Really nice and helpful guide. The only negative was that the location was difficult to find. It was in an open air market which was nice.
Such an authentic experience - you get to go through the entire chocolate making process, make chocolada, chocolate tea, roast your beans, and of course..make your own chocolate! We went to Lindt Factory in Switzerland and thus experience in Miraflores was stellar!
Lovely experience. It’s located in the main aisle of inka market. I loved learning about the history of chocolate and making it from the bean. And you get to taste it all! 10/10
Said was a great instructor, great with our kids, took his time, we learned a ton about the process of chocolate and it’s origination. highly recommend!
This was a great activity to engage in. The benefits of education in cacao, meeting other travelers, making and drinking delicious chocolate, and having fun was delightful.
This was a fun experience. I almost felt like a chocolate expert when I left. Making my own chocolate bar was a huge highlight.
Did what it said on the tin.
Hard to find the chocomuseo it’s in the shopping arcade on the grand floor. Looks just like a chocolate booth.
Learned a lot about chocolate production. Enjoyed hand# on approach. Would recommend to anyone…………..
Great activity. Good pace, informative, enjoyable and fun.
Enjoyed making chocolate bars and trying the steps to make chocolate.
Thoroughly enjoyable and interesting way to spend a few hours, Stephanie really knows her stuff and seems happy to share her knowledge. Looking forward to eating my chocolates later.

The chocolate making part was fun - the rest was a little dry, the fact that there was a fake cocoa plant to demonstrate the process of making cocoa made it a little synthetic.
Host was very knowledgeable and was very patient with the kids. Great hands on experience for the kids. We made our own chocolates first, then three drinks from cacao beans.
Tremendous exposure to cocoa especially its processing. We spent lot of time making chocolate paste and learning of all the various applications of it. Tremendously fun and interesting.
Our guide, Anna, was really knowledgeable and personable. The activity is in an Inka market and we had 8 people in our group. Loved making our own chocolate bars and we got to mash cacao beans and make 2 drinks to try. It was a fun and simple activity to do but was a ton of fun!
Our family of four enjoyed every part of this class. Angelica lead our class (in English) and she was friendly and professional. If you are looking for a fun, quick activity to do in Lima, this is a good option. We were the only four in the class which made it even more fun and personable.
We did this for my husbands birthday with our group of friends and had an absolute blast. Very informational with a lot of hands on opportunities. The chocolate is delicious and we cannot recommend this enough!!
It was only three of us so it was very intimate and enjoyable. The young woman who ran the experience was absolutely amazing. So cool to try a bunch of different types of chocolate and learn the history behind it
10/10 would recommend doing this, especially for the price.
Steffany was absolutely brilliant. It was so fun and amazing to learn a new skill but also an industry that we don’t know a lot about. The chocolate is absolutely delicious and I loved learning about how it’s made. The venue is within the Inka market so try and look for that big red sign and it’s in the middle of a square and the lessons are covered but still outside so still warm.
This is an intimate class taught in a shaded area outside of the small ChocoMuseo location. The ChocoMuseo provides all materials. Our instructor Stefani spoke both English and Spanish, and she guided us through the history of cocoa bean and chocolate-making. Because of the setting time required, you will make your chocolate bars first, then the instructor will go back to the beginning of the process of harvesting, drying, and preparing the cocoa beans for foods and drinks. This class is a great way to involve the kids (ours were 8 and 12 and were totally onboard), and an excellent way to learn about Peru and its agricultural history.
It was absolutely wonderful. Met tons of solo travelers and was a cute activity. You even got to take home chocolates. 10/10. Also you are in the Inka Plaza so you can grab souvenirs as well.
Fun activity to spend a couple free hours if you have extra ones. It's outside so take that into account when dressing for the day (there's a roof but no windows). The lady that assisted us was very knowledgeable but her speaking voice could've been a bit higher to be able to hear her better, specially when in a loud environment (takes place at market). Loved tasting the different cacao drinks.
You will learn everything from the cacao tree to the chocolate! Very informative and dynamic! Our guide was very kind.
