The Hague to Delft

Discover two completely different sides of the Netherlands on this half-day private tour: historic Delft and modern Rotterdam. This activity includes 2 private walking tours of about 2 hours each, and a transfer from one city to the other. In Delft, your guide takes you through the Dutch Golden Age: canals, churches, and the stories of Vermeer, William of Orange, and Antony van Leeuwenhoek. In Rotterdam, you explore a city bombed flat in 1940 and rebuilt as a showcase of bold architecture, including a visit inside one of the iconic Cube Houses. You can do the tour in either direction, starting in Delft or Rotterdam. Pickup and drop-off from other locations, including Amsterdam, can also be arranged. This is a private tour. You set the pace, and if you have special requests or an interest in a certain topic, just let us know.

Three cities, three sides of the Netherlands, one private guide: artistic Leiden, royal and political The Hague, and Golden Age Delft. • Private guide for the whole day, the same guide in all three cities • Lunch and transfers between the cities included • Start in Leiden or in Delft, or add pick-up from a location of your choice, like Amsterdam In Leiden, you pass the Morspoort city gate and the windmill De Put, the same type of mill Rembrandt's parents owned, see the square named after the painter, and hear the story of the Pieterskerk and the old town hall. In The Hague, you walk along the Hofvijver pond and past the Mauritshuis, stroll down the Lange Voorhout and see Noordeinde Palace and the Great Church. In Delft, you pass the Prinsenhof, where William of Orange was assassinated, the leaning Old Church and the Market Square. You set the pace: want to linger somewhere? Just let your guide know.

Three cities that could hardly be more different: Golden Age Delft, modern Rotterdam and cheese town Gouda, in one private day. • Private guide for the whole day, the same guide in all three cities • Lunch in Rotterdam, a visit inside a Cube House and a cheese tasting in Gouda • Transfers between the cities included; pick-up from a location of your choice can be added In Delft, you walk past centuries-old facades and canals, the leaning Old Church and the Prinsenhof, and hear about Vermeer, Delft Blue and the New Church, final resting place of the House of Orange. Rotterdam rose from the ashes of World War II and looks nothing like Delft or Gouda. You see the Markthal, the White House and St. Lawrence Church, the church that survived the bombing, and step inside one of the Cube Houses. In Gouda, you explore the town hall, the weighing house and the St. John's Church, and end the day with a cheese tasting. Prefer the other direction? Just let us know.
