Full day Douro wine tour by locals

This was absolutely a highlight of our entire trip! A leisurely day filled with incredible wine, beautiful scenery and connecting with locals. First of all, the Douro is hands-down an amazingly beautiful setting which you have lots of opportunities to enjoy and take pictures. The tour took us to three family-owned wineries - each different in their own ways. The tour also included a huge lunch (feast) of local specialties plus wine. This was all made possible by our tour guides who were locals themselves. They took great care of us, not only driving us from place to place, but providing interesting insights, taking photos of us, introducing us to local people and providing thoughtful touches that made the day even more special.

Good tour guides with lots of info. Anyone with a mobility impairment should knowthere is a very steep walk upwards from the dock to the train station. I also really liked that the genorousity with the sparkling wine and the care and attention from Lillian from start to finish.

A day in the Duoro Valley

This was an amazing day tour. Andriea was very knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the area and its history. The wineries we visited were excellent and the owners were very informative. We learnt so much about the process of wine and Port making in the valley. As it was harvest season we also had the chance to stamp grapes. Hight recommend this tour!!

Best Douro Valley Boat Ride and Lunch

Everything about this experience was beyond our expectations. We were greeted immediately by our Captain Carlos to check us in and make sure we were in the right spot for Deltatur boat ride. I would 100% recommend this trip but you have to add the lunch. Lunch was spectacular!! Traditionally delicious and portions were huge. A meal at try is the lamb and cod. Ask for half portions so you could share and experience the goodness of all the traditional foods. Ask for Telmo as a guide, he was so helpful and interesting. Thank you for a great trip.

Beautiful Afternoon in the Douro: Ride & Vineyard

A beautiful boat ride on the Douro was the highlight of this experience. Absolutely five star. Kalil, our boat tour guide was knowledgeable and charming. The Crofts vineyard is beautiful and the port wines were spectacular; at Crofts, I did have the impression that there were different levels of tour (food, tables with nice view under vineyards vs inside with no view) and that we did not choose the best level. We still had a great experience, but might have chosen to upgrade had we understood the options better. The three hour tour was a very good use of time for us and gave us quite a comprehensive experience of the area in a short time. Thank you so much for a beautiful afternoon!

If you’re planning a trip to Porto, this Douro Valley tour is an absolute must! Our day started with a perfectly on-time hotel pickup by Alfredo in a spotless and very comfortable VW T7. From the very beginning, he made us feel welcome. His English is excellent, and throughout the day he shared so many interesting stories about Portugal, the Douro Valley, its history, and its wine culture. His passion and knowledge really made the experience special. Our first stop was a small, family-owned winery, where we learned a lot about the region and the winemaking process while enjoying a fantastic wine tasting in a very personal setting. After that, Alfredo took us to a stunning winery with breathtaking views. We enjoyed another excellent wine tasting followed by one of the best lunches we had during our stay in Portugal. The day continued with a stop at the beautiful Pinhão train station, famous for its traditional blue tile artwork, before we relaxed on a peaceful boat cruise along the Douro River. It was the perfect way to take in the incredible scenery. Overall, this was a truly unforgettable experience. Without Alfredo’s local knowledge and carefully planned itinerary, we could never have discovered the Douro Valley in such an authentic and enjoyable way on our own. 10/10 experience – highly recommended! If you’re visiting Porto, don’t miss this tour.

Great scenic experience

Very very beautiful and peaceful boat ride, the town Pinhao is also a great place to see the valley and not overly crowded or touristy. The hosts were very informed and addressed all questions and even gave some great tips and recommendations for viewpoints and activities. The port wine was also good and the whole ride was very scenic. Highly recommend!

Exciting way to see Douro from many angles.

This was probably the best day we had in Portugal! The off roading on narrow old streets was super fun, the scenery was gorgeous. We learned a lot about Douro, the wine, and even about Portugal itself. We tasted many wines and had delicious food. Our guide, Vasco was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour.
