Creating each pot is a unique moment. The ability that clay gives you from a piece of amorphous matter to create objects that will make everyday life more beautiful give it invaluable value. The hours I go to the atelier are for me a source of energy and relaxation, and that’s what I’m looking for those who visit my atelier. The workshop is located 16 kilometres from Heraklion ( acces only with car ), in a unique location in the nature, with a spectacular view of Cretan mountains. The area around offers many opportunities for walking and visiting the nearby villages.

Come with me to travel back to the time, when Cretan people used to make their own Traditional Homemade Cretan Soap, using only Extra Virgin Olive Oil! Together we can create our own traditional soaps, using the recipe my grandmother taught me, as she also learned it from her mother. Using my knowledge as a biochemist, we can develop these formulations to produce a product, based on your needs! The whole procedure is completely safe even for young children and no specific knowledge is required on the subject. On the contrary, you will find it particularly educative and interesting! Come with me and I will prove to you that you can prepare the purest and healthiest cleaning product, with your own hands. We will use only Extra Virgin Cretan Olive Oil, produced by my family, and totally safe ingredients. At the end you will take your soaps you will have made with your own hands, that will be ready the next day, as a souvenir to remember this unique experience as you take your shower!

Although Crete is full of olive wood trees there are only a few olive wood working workshops in the whole area. In our workshop you will experience how a piece of firewood is turned into a toy, a utilitarian object or a piece of art.

What makes this activity unique is that it offers an intimate journey through the real, working heart of Crete — far from the usual tourist routes. You won’t just watch demonstrations; you’ll stand beside the artisans themselves — stirring natural soaps, tasting olive oil fresh from the press, and sipping wines that never reach supermarket shelves. Every stop is family-run, every handshake genuine, and every taste born from generations of care. It’s an afternoon steeped in authenticity — fragrant with herbs, olive wood, and fermenting grapes — where you learn not from guides, but from the makers themselves. By sunset, you’ll understand why Cretans say their island’s treasures are handmade, heartmade, and meant to be shared.
