Amazing day trip from San Jose, our guide Jose was very knowledgeable and had lots of information to share not only about Doka Coffee Roasters and La Paz Waterfall Gardens, but about San Jose, the cities we drove through and national history as well. We had a great time and felt like VIPs everywhere we went. Highly recommend.

Refreshing Day Out in the Mist
Wonderful day trip from San Jose with Arturo and Marcos. The drive to La Paz was stunning and the waterfalls were incredible - impressed by the safety of the stairs and pathways.

Wonderful experience
We had a wonderful day with Raquel and Olman! The animal reserve was an absolute highlight of the whole trip! We got lucky and had some clear skies at Poas and there was a tiny eruption! Will remember this day for years to come!

Outstanding Tour Guide
I had an excellent day tour! Raquel is an amazing guide, extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. She was friendly and accommodating throughout the entire day, and her English is excellent.
I asked countless questions about the volcano, the wildlife, and the history of Costa Rica, and she always had thoughtful, informative answers. Her passion for her country really made the experience even more enjoyable.
I would 100% recommend touring to anyone visiting Costa Rica!

Well-organized and fulfilling tour
This was a very well-organized and fulfilling tour. It covered all the must-see highlights around San José.We started at Doka Coffee Estate with breakfast and a coffee tour, then visited the Poas Volcano and Botos lagoon, and later explored La Paz Waterfall Gardens with animals, lunch, and waterfalls.
The itinerary was packed but well-paced. Our guide, Fila, was experienced and explained everything clearly.
Overall, it met my expectations and I would recommend it.

Poas Volcano and Coffee Plantation
Had an excellent time. Max was the absolute best tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and I love that he communicated everything in both English and Spanish. Max was patient and made every effort to ensure all on the tour had a great time.

Exploring CR
I really enjoy the whole plan. Totally worth it. I joined a group of 5 people from different countries. It was a great experience.
The only thing I didn't like was the driving from our driver. He kept pushing the gas and revving the car the whole way up (hours) in a very unnecessary way (without shifting gears). This caused dizziness for some of us. But still give them 5 starts.

Great day from San José
We visited a local coffee farm and stopped at a strawberry store before the animal rescue and water fall walk. Seeing the park was the highlight and an excellent lunch. Mario was are guide with a great driver he even stopped for a sloth in the trees.

When to visit

This is a great stop for families with children as even younger kids can manage the walking trails.
Wear shoes with a good tread to manage the sometimes slippery trails.
The trails are well maintained, but several sets of stairs mean that not every area is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.
