The highlight of my trip to Cartagena

Taking a cooking class was easily the best part of my trip. With only two of us in the group, it felt like a semi-intensive private lesson, and we got plenty of hands-on time and personal attention. Romario was a wonderful teacher. He shared so much about Colombian cooking, from the techniques to the stories behind the dishes, and made everything approachable and fun. We prepared a full three-course meal (arepas rellenas, pescado en bijao con puré, and more), and it felt like a crash course in fine dining cooking. We went home with new skills, the recipes, and very happy tummies. If you love food and want something more memorable than the usual tourist activities, book this class. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if they had offered 3 day or a week long class. Thank you again Romario & Deyanis! 💗

Fun, Interactive, and Delicious Cooking Experience!

The cooking class was an amazing experience! The host had excellent communication and made everything easy from the beginning. The main chef brought so much energy and personality to the class, making it fun, interactive, and entertaining. There was great music, plenty of laughs, and of course, delicious food. The sous chef was bilingual and did a great job translating throughout the class, so the language difference was never an issue. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience that I would definitely recommend!

Worth it

It was a great experience from start to finish. They started on time and finished on time. The view of the city from out at sea was beautiful. You got a complimentary drink along with a little finger food and lastly the music selection was great. Definitely a 10/10 experience

Loving the non “mainstream” rums in a different part of the Caribbean

This was a really fun thing to do on the edge of the old town in Cartagena. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Adrian who took the class was awesome. Very knowledgeable and made me laugh several times. Was really interesting trying Colombian rums that you just never really see around the world. Location is also great. Wish I had time to try the cooking class that they do at the venue. Truly worth doing.

What a wonderful experience!

Wow this was such a fun morning! Daniel the chef is funny, engaging and a great teacher. He took us to the local market (fair warning, it’s chaotic and you should probably avoid wearing light trouser) - it was authentic and so very cool! We were taken to a spot where Anthony bourdain had eaten previously. We then made such a beautiful and delicious meal which showcased the diversity of cartagena (mote de queso, topside beef and tree tomato as dessert) and were sent the recipes afterwards - we’ll see if I can recreate it at home. Overall a fantastic thing to do.
