      Refund Policy was not honored

      Patricia_D, Aug 2026
I Purchased four tickets to attend the Monet experience in Richmond VA on August 13. when I purchased the tickets I was eligible for a refund if I canceled. ON August 11 I had a medical emergency that took me to the emergency room and then to the ICU unit for four days. On the day I arrived at the ER both my husband and I tried to notify the ticket seller but my request to Viator for a refund due to the emergency cancellation was made in time, but my email was returned to me. Why? Are they not in business anymore ? MY husband then found another email address and we tried again to apply for our refund THROUGH FEVER. This time he was told that he could not apply for the refund AND that AS THE PURCHASER I would have to do it. But I couldn’t do it. I was in the intensive care unit of my local hospital. When I got home from the hospital yesterday, I tried one more time to contact both Viator and Fever still without success. We are both furious. I sent a second email to Fever yesterday and said that we would be happy to apply our ticket to attend the event on a different day. After three full days of trying to get someone to respond to our very reasonable request, we were finally told that we were communicating with the wrong vendor.. This is the worst example of customer service I have ever experienced, and I want to warn other potential customers that Viator and Fever are running a scam this ticket selling racket. I want my money back or a rain check for the 4 ticket holders on Aug. 20 between 10 am and 2 pm, as I requested as an alternative to a refund. Do not ignore this comment I expect a reply.

We’re very sorry to hear about your medical emergency and hope you are recovering well. We absolutely understand the circumstances and would have been happy to make an exception to our standard refund policy in a situation like this. Had we received the refund request while you were dealing with your emergency, we would have honored it. We sincerely apologize for the difficulty you experienced trying to reach the appropriate team and understand how frustrating that must have been during an already very difficult situation. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and wish you a continued recovery.

      Wonderful and illuminating experience

The experience was wonderful and educational. Most interesting, was the Transformative Way, Monet used color. Amazing. . The flow of the museum was well organized. The only little tiny difficulty I had was sitting in the chair provided for the immersion experience. I realize that this is a moving exhibit and luxury chairs can’t be provided, but certainly the beauty of Monet‘s work being seen in such an immersive way outweighed my struggle with the chair. The lighting on the actual pictures was to harsh. It casted a glare on the shiny top later if the picture abd made it extremely hard to see. The immersion part with the music and projected pictures were wonderful but some of the bubbling lighting affect cause me to have a vertigo problem and I had to leave. Maybe have an alternative viewing area and signs indicating problems for people who experience vertigo.

      Not worth it.

One projector was out of order. We had a 4 pm start time they had to know this was an issue. They had all day to resolve the issue and did not. When we mentioned it the staff said they would tell their manager. The editing was like a high school production. They will try to upsell for IVR. Our experience with Van Gogh was in NY and RVA, NY was seamless editing. RVA was better than this Monet version. I would tell people to pass on the experience.

      Response from Host, Aug 2026

We’re glad you’ve had positive experiences with our other immersive exhibitions, and we’re sorry this visit didn’t meet those expectations. We understand your frustration with the projector issue, particularly given your 4 PM arrival time, and we’ve shared your feedback with the venue team. We appreciate you taking the time to provide such detailed feedback as we continue working to improve the experience.

Don’t waste your time or your money. It was 80% a disappointment. Also don’t buy your tickets through Viator. They/you don’t offer student or senior discounts. I got screwed by not being careful to see that I was buying through the real website.

      Response from Host, Aug 2026

We’re sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We understand your frustration regarding the ticket purchase, but we appreciate you sharing your feedback so future guests can be more aware of where they are purchasing their tickets. We’ll continue working to make the experience and booking process as clear and enjoyable as possible.
