IMPORTANT: If you are arriving via ship, or at a hotel please indicate the name of the ship or hotel and follow the meeting instructions: Read carefully for the price options chosen regarding ship and hotel transportation. If cruise ship price is chosen - No Hotel Transport is included from the hotels only from the cruise ship port. Cruise ship pickup and drop off only 1) Meeting time: 30 - 45 mins prior to departure 2) Enter the terminal building and walk to the exit 3) Exit the building to the first right hand turn in the area of the casino 4) Look for the handheld sign: SCENIC ESCAPE ST KITTS Hotel 1) Choose the correct price option for selected hotel pickup. If no transport is required to the train station you may choose the ship price option. NO TRANSPORT FROM THE HOTELS WILL BE PROVIDED 2) Indicate the name of the hotel for pickup if the option (St. Kitts Scenic Train (Hotel) is chosen and paid for. 3) Meet at the selected hotel in the drop down menu 30 minutes prior to departure. Nobody showed up at our hotel to pick us up. The guide representative claimed we agreed to get to the meeting point ourselves, but that NEVER happened. We wound up missing the entire tour .
Great way to see the island. Difficult to hear the person speaking. Great drinks. We enjoyed but would have liked to hear the person speaking.

We had such a great time on this historical train ride. Other comments mentioned the shakiness of the train, but we did not feel any of that. The workers were incredible. You get free drink drinks as well as a little snack. I would recommend this experience to anyone who’s coming to Saint Kitts especially if you have limited time on the island. Communication with the tour operator was excellent.

If you get motion sickness, this is not the excursion for you. The train ride is EXTREMELY bumpy and loud. You cannot really talk during the 1.5 hours and you cannot get around. If you pick inside, you are stuck inside. It is too bumpy to walk anywhere including the bathroom. Everyone is very pleasant and nice but the 100+ year old train needs to retire.

Our cruise ship was only here for the day, but we thoroughly enjoyed our excursion. The local guide was quite good and provided us with some great commentary as we proceeded to the train station. The train provided us with a great way to see many parts of the island and we learned a lot about the history, geography and culture along the way.

We did not receive meeting point/time instructions (meet by casino at 0915). Only received 10:00 at pier

A great excursion. Pro tip note we were asked to sit in the first or third train cabin. We set in the first cabinet and you get a lot of noise from the engine and diesel smell so sit further back.
Train broke town and they had to bring in a crew and welder but fixed and moved on quickly. Well organized.

The bus tour was good with a knowledgeable guide. The first hour of the train ride was good but the train continually rocked back and forth. An hour was enough because of the rocking vs. 1 1/2 hour. Would not highly recommend.

Good train experience /tour when arriving by cruise ship. If you are English speaking make sure the commentary is in English, otherwise makes a very long trip! Not happy we were not told there would no English commentary. The bus driver (1 hr approx from port to train departure point) knew we were from Australia did not speak German yet said nothing.

The train ride sways a lot. You are well hydrated during the ride with unlimited refreshments. The narration was very informative.
Our coach driver was informative, funny and navigated the traffic expertly.

Very slow and rocky. It was extremely difficult to hear the tour guide. The train is very loud and squeaky and rocks side side the whole time.

The train was too long and it didn’t really show us anything thrilling about the island. The drinks were poor, and the narration was lacking any history or interesting stories. Not worth the effort; was not inexpensive.

Make sure you sit on the left side or the seat at the back of the car that goes across. All water views are on the left. Hard to take pictures on the right side without standing up.

I selected the optio for pickup at hotel, and the driver arrived early and was courteous. We boarded the train early and another couple and us were the only ones sitting in the car. We waited about fifteen minutes for the cruise ship passengers to arrive and they filled the rest of the car. We soon realized you can't see much from the car and asked one of the attendants if we could move up to the top seating. She said no and offered no reason why. When we arrived, nobody seemed to know what to do with those not from the cruise ship. The only food was a tiny little cookie, although there was plenty of drinks.

To clarify, the train experience does not include a full meal. Guests are served a sweet treat along with complimentary drinks, including fruit beverages, rum punch, and daiquiris. Additionally, due to the design and safety regulations of the train cars, guests are not permitted to move between carts or seating levels once assigned.
We regret any confusion upon arrival and appreciate you sharing your experience. We do hope to welcome you back to St. Kitts in the future for an even better experience.
The train was a fun ride. It was a good way to see the countryside and learn some history of St Kitts. We rode in the open air top part of the car, the lower part was enclosed and air conditioned. We were fortunate not to have rain, and the constant breeze kept us comfortable. The beverages served were tasty, and the dancers were an entertaining surprise. The busses to and from the train itsaelf were comfortable and efficient.

Train cars are very rocky. Difficult to take photos and depending on where you sit up stairs, view is not good.

This was a great tour. We saw community life from the van that picked us up from the port and the outer edges of St. Kitts from the train. They were very generous with the rum on the train. The dancers were a nice touch on the train.

Train left very late as it’s dependent on the cruise ship coming in. As they know the cruise ship timetables, this could be better.
Audio isn’t very good for the tour. Service on board was good with attentive and friendly staff. The local dancers looked like they hated their jobs and it didn’t feel authentic. Bus journey at the end was cramped.

We took this from a cruise ship (make sure you're set to get back well before all-aboard time). We ended up having several passengers who booked an excursion through the cruise line with us, so we weren't worried about getting back to the ship on time.
This tour includes a drive to and from the train back to the cruise terminal, which was well organized and very convenient. The train itself was excellent, lots of fun, great views, and complementary drinks and snack. Be sure to sit on the top level!
The train does sway quite a bit since it's a narrow-gauge track, but it's perfectly safe. It was a great way to experience St. Kitts. Everyone felt authentic and lovely! I would highly recommend this tour to friends and family.

We had a great time on the train. It was very bumpy upstairs, but it all added to the experience. The ladies looking after us in our carriage were delightful, and the local dances were fun to watch. We had lovely pina coladas and rum punches. The scenery was breathtaking.

The pick-up was chaotic. The driver said getting back we would need to pay for a cab if yhete is not enough space on the buses of the organisation to get back to Porte Zante. The train was guider by a women using a mic. Would have loved to hear more of the history. It seems you mainly got worth for your money if you drank as much alcoholic all-inn beverages as possible. Which was not my goal of this trip

I didn't know there was almost a 1 hour bus ride to the train, but the driver was an expert tour guide and even sang to us. The scenery was sea and mountains and was beautiful. All kinds of drinks, first one free and island dancers, so a party atmosphere. Open air upper level had a nice sea breeze, so it wasn't hot.

Enjoyed most the scenic views of the Island from the train and having Rum Punch at the same time. Natives dance in the train was good.
