This was a great tour. The tour guide, Roberto, was great as well. However, if you have a fear of heights, I would not take the walking tours to the peaks once in the jungle. You will walk up narrow paths with inches away from falling off the side of the cliff. Luckily the walk down was down a different and wider path. Also, I was told because of the heavy clouds, the group avoided going up a steeper cliff side.

Great time with Reborto

Roberto is a great guy and tour guide. He told us many interesting facts and never seemed rushed. The rainforest was a great experience.

Fantastic experience!...

Christian_M, Apr 2026
Fantastic experience! Worth every dollar! Our guide Roberto was very engaging and knowledgeable about the forest and each stop/landmark. Due to a holiday, the initial hiking path was crowded so we took a different hike, which was longer but well worth the trek to the highest point of Tijuca mountain.

Thank you so much for the review! 😊 We’re so glad to hear you had a fantastic experience with Roberto. It’s great that you enjoyed the hike, even with the detour to the different path. Hope to see you again soon for more unforgettable experiences in Rio! 🌟

Lauro is the best!

John_A, Mar 2026
What an unbelievable day! Lauro was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had! He went above and beyond his duties and really showcase the natural wonder of Tijuca National Park! Even though it was a cloudy and rainy day with fog to spoil anyone else’s views, Lauro took us around too many parts that others don’t get a chance to see. We were able to swim and hike and enjoy the splendour of this scenic beauty! Thank you! You helped make a trip to Rio, a trip of a lifetime!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you so much for your amazing review, John! 😊 We’re thrilled to hear that Lauro made your day in Tijuca National Park unforgettable, even with the weather challenges! 🌧️ His passion for showcasing Rio’s natural beauty truly makes all the difference. 👏 We hope to welcome you again soon for another lifetime trip in Rio! 🌿🌟

Roberto is a great, fun, do anything for you guide

Bring good hiking shoes for the hike(or a hiking sandal) and then you can bring sandals to change into after the swim. The experience starts with being picked up by the jeep, then you pickup any other guests. Following that, you head to the forest and park the jeep to stop at a cafe for bathroom/water and then the trail starts at the cafe. You can store your bags or anything you don't need at the cafe. The trail is long and the vertical height is quite a bit. We saw some monkeys in the distance and heard them as well, otherwise we did not see many animals. Roberto pointed out a lot of trees. At the top there is little shade, but the view is amazing. Roberto was kind enough to take a drone video of us all and provided a Brazil flag to take pictures with. He sent the drone video via WhatsApp, no charge! Then we hiked down, which was much easier. At the bottom, we stopped at the cafe again for bathroom/quick drink. Then we got back into the jeep to go to the waterfall and the area we could swim. The water was clean and fresh and cool. It was very picturesque. There we did see a coati (I think it's called). After that, we drove in the jeep to the Chinese pagoda and then Roberto was nice enough to take the whole crew to some of the best Acaí in town. We got back quite late (3:30 pm), so if you have plans, just keep Roberto or your guide aware to keep things moving.
