Robert was very knowledgeable and went beyond the time allotted to make sure that we not only saw the upper city but also the lower city. He was patient with various interruptions and gave thoughtful answers to the questions we asked

Very knowledgeable guide. She shared some interesting facts, and engaged the group by asking questions to lead to our own discoveries.

Check in was at the tourist information building. We had a nice sized group (9 people) so it was easy to hear our guide. We moved at a great pace and saw so much in just 2 hours! Our guide was so knowledgeable on the history of the city and pointed out many things we'd missed before when exploring on our own. This tour was well worth it, highly recommend!

If you're able to spend a few hours in Old Quebec this walking tour is an amazing way to explore the city. I was staying for several days and although I explored on my own, I decided to book this tour to learn about the history from an experienced guide. Stefan was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to. He took us to many historical sites and taught us so much about the history of the city. I did other excursions during my time here but honestly, this might have been the highlight of my stay if you enjoy exploring and learning. It was not too long of a tour and the walking was pleasant with time to get some nice photos. Our tour ended right before rain started so check the weather and bring an umbrella if you need one because they'll still do the tour!

Yves was a great guide. Vast knowledge, great sense of humor, understood our need for shade in the relative heat.
Jacqueline_H, Aug 2026
The tour guide was great, lots of knowledge presented in an interesting way. It was a very hot day and he was careful to ensure that we stood in the shade whenever possible. Really professional but fun too.

This tour was a wonderful introduction to Quebec City. Our guide Robert, who went to school in Quebec City, was extremely knowledgable and made the city come alive. He did a great job of clearly explaining the history and importance of the sites we visited, and he encouraged questions. He also explained how the city has changed and how it got to its current state. We highly recommend this tour!

Excellent tour guide, Tommy Burns. Very knowledgeable about history and personable. Highly recommend.
BARRY_R, Aug 2026
Very good historical tour of both upper and lower QUEBEC CITY. Duration was about right. Nine guests was about right - not too many . Tour leader was pleasant patient friendly and knowledgeable!
Rick_M, Aug 2026
Robert was the consummate story teller and historian! We all felt his stories and they brought the tour to life. Well worth every minute.
Heather_P, Aug 2026
It was very informative. Sylvan was a great guide. Fair number of steps so you have to be able to manage that. I’d recommend as it was a great introduction to the city.

I had Yves for our walking tour of Quebec City. He did not speak loud enough unless you were almost right on top of him. Our group was all Americans and he made it a point. His liberal biases were not hidden from the group as I heard another member of the group say he felt uncomfortable. No need to show your political views as a tour guide.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear the tour wasn't what you expected. Yves is one of the most appreciated guides in Québec City, and hundreds of reviews describe him as knowledgeable, passionate, and welcoming. Knowing Yves personally, we're confident he would never intentionally make a guest feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. That said, we do wonder if some of his comments may have been interpreted differently because of personal perspectives. Is it possible that your own views may have influenced the way you experienced parts of the tour? We ask this sincerely, as we've found Yves to be consistently respectful and well-intentioned with guests from all over the world. Contact us at info@toursvoirquebec.com so we can discuss this further.

Excellent overview of Quebec history and modern day. Be ready to walk - the city is hilly. Our guide was wonderful!

We took this tour the morning after we arrived. It was a great way to acquaint ourselves with Quebec City and learn about it’s history. Robert, our guide, made this fun and interesting. This is a “must do.”

Excellent walking tour to learn more about Quebec and Canadian history. It is a bit longer than 2h but nonetheless worth every penny!
Lisa_P, Jul 2026
Well informed guide takes you on a walk stopping in front of famous landmarks. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Experience will vary depending on guide. Personal experiences are appreciated and will vary the direction of the tour
Anna_W, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was nice but this was fully focused on the history of Quebec. We wanted to learn more about the people, culture, etc. but we learned about how it was founded and the wall architecture and the British influence, etc. I also would have loved to have more sights and recommendations pointed out to us. We had four people on the tour leave midway, which we wanted to do as well but didn’t want to be rude. Highly disappointed because this tour was so highly rated on Viator. I wouldn’t do it again or recommend it unless you’re really interested in history.

The walking tour was a great way to learn the history of Quebec City and current environment. To learn the significance of various buildings and waterways.
