This tour was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The sloth tour was the highlight—we were just a meter away from a baby sloth! It was such a rare and magical moment. Our sloth guide, Pablo, was amazing—knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly dedicated to protecting the wildlife. Our overall guide for the day (also named Pablo) was fantastic—friendly, engaging, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The waterfall stop was breathtaking, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. And the interactive cacao and coffee tour was such a treat. We learned so much about the growing and production process and got to taste incredibly fresh cacao and coffee—some of the best we’ve had. This tour was the perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and culture, and it was made even better by the fantastic guides. Absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica!

We fit a lot into one day. I lived the waterfall the best, but we also saw wildlife and tastes local coffee plus enjoyed an included lunch. Manny our guide and our bus driver were great.

This was a great outing! I took my mother who is almost eighty because it looked like it would be fun but laidback enough for her level of fitness and it was. Nana was our tour guide for the day. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. Gustavo was our driver and he was incredibly kind and attentive. They were both so helpful and considerate of my mother! The stairs down to the waterfall were a little tricky so Mom didn’t do that part; but she had a pretty place to sit with a nice view with a couple of local vendors she chatted with. I did go down to the waterfall myself. It was beautiful and refreshing! The rainforest and sloth watching was really great and the trail was perfect for Mom. Diego was our naturalist and aside from being well-educated on his subject matter, he grew up in the area so he had a lot of knowledge to share. And an incredible eye! We saw things we never would have noticed on our own. Additionally, he’s an excellent photographer and helped us get some really nice shots! We had the very rare good fortune of seeing a juvenile sloth down low close to the trail. We were right next to him and he was cuter than I could have imagined!
The coffee and cacao farm was also an awesome learning experience in a beautiful place. Sadly, I can’t remember the name of our guide there; but he was wonderful. We love coffee and chocolate so this was right up our alley! A traditional lunch was part of the tour and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour!

If you want to see a lot in one day, this is the trip to take. We learned a lot about the countryside, saw a wide array of wildlife and beautiful places. We had so much fun learning about coffee and cacao! The guides were friendly and well informed and the lunch was excellent. Highly recommend.

Manny was a great guide! The excursion was very entertaining. We saw iguana, sloths, frogs, viper, toucans, and hummingbirds. The ride was great the drive was skilled and safe! Got us there and back safely and fast! The lunch good. Excursion to the coffee and cacao making tour was informative. How they process it and make it from bean to cup! Justin our guide was sooo knowledgeable on every aspect of coffee and cacao! I recommend this tour to anyone who visits this part of the country! Lush rainforest!! We had a wonderful experience with Nana! She took such good care of us. We started the tour with a beautiful drive to the waterfall, we stopped for breakfast (not part of the tour, but part of the caretaking, it's hard to enjoy yourself when you're hangry) and had a nice sit down meal with an explanation of what we could expect during the day. We enjoyed everything that was listed in the description. What was not mentioned was how much each guide would go out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our visit. We saw sloths, frogs, a beautiful snake and with some much needed help, we got amazing photos that we are taking credit for. i go to grind coffee and taste fresh cocoa beans and learn about the history of Costa Rica. We also had an amazing Costa Rican lunch. It was money and time well spent.

It was a very fun and unique experience. The coffee and chocolate was our favorite. There was a little more time spent in the car than doing the activities but, otherwise, it was great.

We absolutely loved this experience! Emmanuel was an amazing tour guide, and communication was great throughout the tour. We got to see several animals and learn about their backgrounds, which made the experience even more special. We learned so much about Costa Rica’s wildlife and really enjoyed getting to appreciate the country’s beautiful nature. The coffee tour was also incredibly informative, and we loved learning about the process while getting to taste Costa Rican coffee and hot chocolate. Both were delicious! The sites leading to the excursion were beautiful. Our guide gave us flexibility to choose when we would stop for lunch on the route. Lunch at the local pizzeria was the best meal we had all trip even though we didn’t order pizza. The waterfall experience was beautiful. If you love coffee and chocolate, would highly recommend this tour. The icing on the cake was seeing the sloths in their natural environment. We had the opportunity to see some other beautiful creatures as well.

This is one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. Nana was so knowledgeable, warm and bubbly, and wanted to ensure we saw everything we were wanting to see. The tour was great. We couldn’t swim at the water fall but it was still great and totally didn’t take away from anything we did that day. We never felt rushed, took our time everywhere, took lots of pictures, and had a calm drive there and back.
It was farther than we expected so of you are on the Pacific Coast, expect 2 hours in the car. That isn’t a complaint, it was exciting to see the country, That was just something we didn’t expect.

We enjoyed the various experiences! The tour guide was good about giving opportunities for bathrooms and even coffee/breakfast since pick up was early in the morning. The national park with the waterfall had decent bathrooms to change in and out of swimsuits. The guides new where the animals liked to hang out. The coffee and chocolate tasting was delicious. Only be ready for a lot of driving, which is unavoidable, honestly, if you want to see/do different things.

We had a nice day. We have a 2 1/2 year-old and did not want anything strenuous, but wanted to see some gems of Costa Rica. We experienced swimming in a waterfall, got to see all the animals that we wanted, had a delicious lunch and a very great experience at the coffee & cacao tour.
We were picked up and met up with the larger group, so it was nice that they took into consideration the different locations of hotels. I appreciate the efficiency.
Nana was a great guide. Everyone involved was friendly and very knowledgeable.

Hotel pickup process was sketchy. Picked up by an uber type
Driver who did not speak English. Had to meet up with van from other hotel at a gas station.
Waterfall was Disappointing. Found out upon arrival that water was ‘murky’ due to rain. It was BROWN. Not murky. No one swam. Waste of time.
Coffee and chocolate was simple and underwhelming. 5 minute tours of each.
Best part of sloth experience was baby sloth and lunch. Very accommodating to gluten allergy
Driver drove like a maniac. Tour guide was
A bit unprofessional when talking about his own life. No one wants to hear how he knew he was about to be a father of his second child after leaving his wife ‘when she told him she wasn’t having her period’. Too much information we could have done without.

You're right about the waterfall. Heavy rains the days before your tour turned the water brown, and we know how disappointing that is when you're expecting a beautiful swim. Nature is something we can't control, but we should have informed you before the tour and offered you the option to reschedule or change your plans. We're sorry we didn't.
We also apologize for the confusion with your pickup. You should have had a clear, smooth start to your day, with a driver able to communicate with you in English. The driving and your guide's comments were also not the standard we hold ourselves to. We have shared your feedback directly with our team so these situations don't happen again.
We're glad you enjoyed the baby sloth and lunch, and that we could take care of your gluten allergy.

Guides friendly. Waterfall beautiful. In rain forest should have taken my poncho, which I had on the bus, despite the guide saying it wouldn’t rain. It did. We saw sloths, colorful basically bright green frog with red eyes, eyelash vipers, tiny red frogs, working ants, beautiful variation of tropical flowers and beautiful foliage.

We enjoyed this tour so much! The waterfall on the way out was a great way to break up an otherwise long ride, and an extra opportunity to see wildlife. The coffee and chocolate experience was very engaging and interesting, and seeing the wildlife (frogs, snakes, and SLOTHS) was amazing. We loved our guide, Rudi, who was full of enthusiasm and knowledge about the animals and plants that we were seeing. 10/10 would recommend!

Each stop was fun, beautiful, and the right length to enjoy. Our tour guide Rudy was fantastic. The jungle experience was delightful and full of animals without being too strenuous. We especially loved seeing sloths and frogs.

Definitely recommend this experience! Our guide, Rudy, was outstanding and made this such an amazing excursion. He went out of his way to really make it memorable. Orlando, our driver, was great as well. We were able to get to the waterfall before the crowds and enjoy the water and view. After the coffee and cocoa, we had a great lunch and then a truly unique experience in the rainforest. We were so lucky to see a sloth down close and take pictures with it. The rainforest guide was awesome and found some really cool animals to show us. I highly recommend this experience! Ask for Rudy and Orlando!

This experience was a great way to see lots of what makes Costa Rica special! Guide José and driver Mauricio were on time, knowledgeable, and courteous. I particularly appreciate the pickup and drop off as a solo traveler trying to see more of the country. The curation of stops was excellent -- we saw many animals (sloths! snakes! frogs!), got to swim in a waterfall, and tasted delicious chocolate, coffee, not to mention the great lunch at a local soda. We had the best experience with Jose as our guide and Mauricio as our driver! Unforgettable moments with my 3 daughters seeing a baby sloth up close, a vibrant colorful frog and a venomous snake. We had a ball with Rudy and Luis! They were prompt and professional. We had a small group of 5 and everything was handled, no problems whatsoever. We started with waterfall and thankfully before it got super busy. Rudy was good about pointing out wildlife and made no pressure to visit stands or anything. Everyone knew him and his English was great.
We then went to the Coffee and Chocolate tour where once again, everyone knew Rudy. Emmanuel was our tour guide there. Very knowledgeable and answered all questions. We had fun interactions with him and Jessica as she prepared fresh coffee and chocolate for us. Everything was delicious.
From there, we went sloth watching at the sanctuary and Kevin was our tour lead. He's young and truly interested in the animals. He was able to get us close up pics of snakes, frogs and sloths. It started raining and our tour went on. Kevin is a biologist with a focus on snakes and frogs but I don't believe there is an animal that he doesn't know well.
Last, we had a delicious lunch! So many choices, so much food, fresh fruit drinks and water, even better service. Love this place!!!
And then back home. Luis is the perfect driver. I slept on the way back so easily even though he was truly driving those small roads.
I would highly recommend as a good intro to Costa Rica.

Excellent experience for families; my daughters are 10 and 12 and enjoyed all of the experiences. One thing to note is that it can be a long car ride back to the hotel/resort depending on where you are staying but the guide was very knowledgeable about the different areas we traveled through which made the time in the car go by quickly. Overall the excursion was a good variety of different activities.
