It is basically a visit to the lovely gardens and grounds of Balmoral since you can only see one room (which houses a photographic exhibit).

Our tour guide, Alan, was absolutely outstanding. This tour is perfectly designed for cruise travelers, and we were delighted to experience it at a price that was significantly lower than the cruise line’s excursion.
We were picked up directly at the cruise terminal and taken to the beautiful Falls of Feugh before heading to Balmoral. There was plenty of time to tour the ballroom, explore the gardens, and enjoy lunch.
Afterward, we visited a charming village near Balmoral. Because we had a little extra time, Alan also took us to Drum Castle, which was an unexpected bonus.
Alan’s knowledge of the Royal Family was exceptional, and we learned a tremendous amount throughout the day. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and I can’t recommend this tour highly enough.

Absolutely wonderful! We were on the Viking Jupiter, and Alan picked us up at the port. Alan was a great guide and kept us informed and entertained . Balmoral Castle was a real treasure. Fabulous gardens and so much history. A visit to the gift shop is a must. I highly recommend this wonderful tour.

Great drive through the Scottish countryside and lovely visit to Balmoral. We were admitted into the ballroom with lovely pictures of the queen and her family through the years, but not the rest of the castle. Alan was very knowledgeable and a great driver. Loved the variety of music he played. 15 in our group. Be sure to walk down to the Dee River and the sweet pet cemetery.

A previous Viator tour guide in Athens was marvelous. This tour was a disappointment. The tour guide skipped the first of three promised locations without apology or explanation and wasted nearly an hour driving around brown barren mountains to see a microscopic size pyramid honoring Prince Albert. Small wonder everyone in the tour bus declined his offer to exit the bus. That hour would have been much better spent touring the Balmoral gardens.
The tour guide never stopped talking and shared his personal life stories that were of little interest to the group. We weren't the only ones to be annoyed. Worse, much of his endless chatter was directed to a female passenger whom he allowed to sit next to him at the very front of the bus. Their badinage quickly became tedious and irksome.

My husband and I booked this trip with Darryl as our driver/guide. He was knowledgeable and help everyone throughout the day. He was wonderful and truly made the day a fantastic one! He was on time for pickup and kept us on time all day. I would highly recommend this trip and Darryl to everyone!

We had a fantastic trip with Alan to Balmoral Castle, with plenty of stops for photos, bathrooms, and nourishment. The excursion left on time and came back on time, and as extra bonus, they dropped us off in City Center, rather than Port of Aberdeen.
Highly recommended.

Darrell was a great guide. The castle grounds were beautiful and the river too. The only room in the castle you could go in was the ballroom. The town we stopped in was Ok

This is not a tour of the castle. Just the castle grounds. Pretty but not real fun in the rain. Not a high recommendation for this one.

The tour exceeded our expectations. We lucked out that the cruise ship didn’t come into port so 3 of us had the tour to ourselves. Alan was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge. The Falls of Feugh were beautiful. Balmoral visit was amazing Both Braemar and Ballater were lovely towns. This was the highlight of our vacation. Thanks to Alan we made a wee extra stop on the way back to Aberdeen at Crathes Castle for a few photos. Would highly recommend this tour.

Balmoral castle is an exceptional excursion. The beauty of the gardens, grounds, and ballroom is wonderful. We had time to see and enjoy the estate. Being part of a 16 person group allowed us to go places and visit sites that are not possible when on a large motor coach. Neil is a delightful guide, who offered much information and insight during our excursion. Highly recommend

Focus was on Balmoral visit, which is exactly what we wanted. Scenic drive out with nice commentary from the guide about the areas we were passing.

Interesting excursion. In addition to the time spent at Balmoral Castle, the guide stopped at several places to help us discover local sites and beautiful landscapes.
