This experience begins in the morning as we meet in Salento, in front of the clock at the entrance of Calle Real: the main street. From there, we board a traditional public Jeep Willys, the iconic rural transport of the region, and ride into the countryside toward Cocora Valley. We begin hiking along quiet rural paths that lead into the Andean forest, surrounded by lush vegetation, fresh mountain air, and the sounds of nature. As we walk, we share local traditions, slangs, history that makes this region so unique. It is usually traveled in Jeep Willys, although it can also be done in Duster vans, subject to availability. The journey takes 20 minutes to one of the most iconic landscapes in Colombia. In the reserve Bosques de Palmas you will enjoy nature, photos and the imposing wax palms. Hopefully, they'll see a condor. The trail is irregular and with slopes, so good footwear is recommended. ️ The weather can vary during the day, ideal to wear a light jacket or waterproof.
