Very worth it
Excellent Tour guide Juan Camilo.
On time and very knowledgeable in the tour details.
Very exciting tour from the moment we were pick up in a top-down 1966 Jeep to riding horses down the river

We enjoyed the hike very...
We enjoyed the hike very much but could have been more informed about the difficulty and conditions of the trail. It was extremely muddy and very rocky at the end. Our guide didn’t offer us water until we asked for it. It was beautiful but much longer than we expected

Jeffrey's the best!
Definitely wear the proper footwear and be prepared for high elevation. Other than that listen to your guide if you have one and don't be a jerk to other hikers. If you have Jeffery Garcia you'll be fine. He was amazing! He made our experience in Cocora wonderful! Especially since everything else about our trip to has been very stressful due to the earthquake. He is very knowledgeable about the area and worked at our pace. Jeffery will go above and beyond for you and I can't recommend him enough. If you have the chance to choose a guide he's the best. We got to see so many amazing animals because of him.

So worth it!
Had an amazing time with Pedro! He was so fun and welcoming and adjusted to what we wanted to do. It is a long tour but with lots of variety and so many amazing sights and experiences. It was so beautiful seeing the Cocora Valley that my boyfriend decided to propose there and Pedro was so kind and patient with the impromptu event. We started this tour a bit late and I would recommend picking an earlier time for more ease but even though we got back to Salento city late Pedro still gave us the history and brought us to an amazing empanada place to round out the tour. Again it was so great even though one of our friends had a hiccup on the horse they did all they could to help him feel comfortable to continue. Highly recommend!

Great experience to learn about the local wildlife
I could not recommend this tour of Cocora Valley more highly, particularly if you are interested in birds and biodiversity. My guide, Robin, was extremely knowledgeable and spent a lot of time talking explaining the birds of the area.
If you want to learn more about the local wildlife while taking in the breathtaking views of the Cocora Valley, this tour is for you.

Cocora
Mauricio was an excellent guide in every way, had a ton of knowledge about anything related to Colombia, its history, and much more. The locations on the tour were beautiful. Would recommend to anyone in the area

Great
Had a fantastic time! Our guide Seb was very knowledgeable and good at spotting birds. We spent ages at the hummingbird sanctuary and throughout the walk saw tons of bird life. The only negative comment was that lunch was back in town at 4pm once we had finished the hike, we were only provided snacks up to then.

More than just a walk
Went with Yiefry. His enthusiasm and knowledge about everything plant or bird added so much to our experience and learning. It made it more than just a walk and we were very happy we didn'T do on our own. Track can be a bit taxing when wet, so most definitely take the right shoes. Cocora Tours organised everything very well and were in touch with us beforehand. Quite a fair amount of the tour price goes into valley entrance fees which you will have to pay when you go by yourself. Highly recommend the trip.

We went on the tour with...
We went on the tour with Nicolas and were amazed by the wax palms. When you stop for a little coffee, make sure to try the cake with guava and cheese!

When to visit

Hiking the entire loop takes around 5 or 6 hours. Take a clockwise route for a gentler incline throughout the hike.
Remember to wear sturdy shoes; the trail is uneven and can get muddy, especially after periods of rain.
Bring a rain jacket and dress in layers; temperatures can change significantly with the altitude.
Guests who want to spend more time in the valley can camp in the area or stay in one of a handful of small local hotels.
