To eat and drink in Saga is to taste a prefecture held between two very different seas. The Genkai Sea brings squid and other fresh catches to the north, while the tidal Ariake Sea supports its own distinctive seafood culture. Between them lie the fertile Saga Plain and mountain-fed waters that sustain rice cultivation and a deeply rooted sake-brewing tradition. Saga is also the land of Karatsu and Imari ware, where food, drink, and handcrafted vessels naturally meet at the table. Choose Saga City, Tosu, Karatsu, or Imari, and spend the evening at two local venues selected around your tastes. What appears on the table changes with the city, season, and availability—and that is part of the experience. Rather than following a fixed tourist menu, discover the Saga being eaten and poured that night.
