An interesting cultural overview, though quite touristy
Gaining insight into the local culture and traditions was definitely worthwhile. That said, the experience is noticeably commercialized and doesn't feel entirely authentic.
However, I genuinely appreciated our guide referring to the local performers as artists and giving them proper recognition. That thoughtful framing made a big difference and allowed me to enjoy the shows feeling much more comfortable and respectful of their craft.

A genuine well run family business. Food and entertainment we both good. Very close to centre of Rotorua.

- If you have special dietary requirements, let the village know in advance. A hangi meal typically consists of potatoes, meat, and vegetables.
- As many activities at the Mitai Maori Village take place in the evening, don’t forget to take a jacket and some insect repellent.
- Prices vary depending on the activity package, but kids aged 4 and below are free.
