From saints and Prince Bishops to the darker side of our history, there are stories in abundance. During the tour you will be guided around the magnificent Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle(subject to availability) which will bring to life the history that you will learn about on the walking tour. You will stop for coffee and cake at one of the city's atmospheric cafe's and later in the day drink a beer in one of our many historic pubs. Your local guide has ran Walkabout Durham tours for five years whilst also teaching geography and history. We are delighted to launch this new tour- bring all the best of Walkabout Durham to you in one day.

Despite its UNESCO World Heritage–listed castle and cathedral, Durham doesn’t get much detail in the guidebooks. Learn facts about the city that you won’t easily find online and get recommendations for things to do in the center on this guided walking tour that spans everything from history to hauntings. See the university, bridges, the marketplace, and more, and capture postcard-perfect views of the cathedral.
