Wonderful instructions and amazing location
Travelling to the host location is the first part of this wonderful experience from the single carriage train travelling between the houses to the destination station located amongst the hills is all very picturesque. The class was great and hearing how traditional weapons were made, though we had the luxury of modern tools to speed up the process. The hosts are very good at guiding you through the steps of discovery of ancient techniques of crafting.

This was so much fun! It...
This was so much fun! It was a once in a lifetime experience that I’m super happy to have been apart of! It took quite a bit of effort to complete, but the results spoke for themselves. The staff was super helpful and supportive to making sure you got what you wanted!

Fun activity - great keepsake
Sai was our teacher. He was friendly and helpful in his instruction. This was a fun and interactive activity. We chose to monogram our chopsticks - a wonderful keepsake. (Note that cost to monogram was 2000 yen. The class was inexpensive, so we could justify spending the extra.)

A lovely workshop
We had a lovely time learning about how the paper is traditionally made and then making our own and decorating it with pressed flowers. Our teacher was lovely the instructions very clear and calm. We came away with our postcards as a lovely memento of our time. The shop where we did the workshop was beautiful.

Peace and Relaxation
My wife and I absolutely LOVED this activity. We are really into crafts, and Wil and Rina were great about walking us through the process of kintsugi. My wife is meticulous, and they didn't mind us staying an extra hour for her to finish. Wil even kept us company and told us some fascinating history of Kyoto. I would love to do their other classes.

Kyoto Experience
Went into this without much expectations but really enjoyed it. The location is off the beaten tourist track and less of a conveyor belt system, with people coming in and out, like other activities available in Kyoto.
It was intersting to learn about the dying process and the staff including the grandma working the shop were inviting and helpful.

Book This One!
This sake tour was an absolute highlight of our trip. From start to finish, our tour guide Jimmy was warm, personable, and genuinely enthusiastic. He made us feel welcome while sharing fascinating stories about sake history and brewing techniques. His explanations were clear and engaging, and he happily answered every question with patience and knowledge.
The tastings were thoughtfully paced and well curated, showcasing a great variety of styles so you can really appreciate the differences.
A big plus, he offers several tour options beyond the sake tour. We learned about his Nara excursions and food-focused tours, which sound fantastic for anyone wanting to explore more of the region.
If you want a fun, informative, and friendly experience with someone who clearly loves what he does, book this tour. You’ll leave with new knowledge, great memories, and probably a favorite bottle or two.

Family trip, 1st time in Japan
This tour is awesome!! We really enjoyed this highly informative tour about sake, who knew there were so many variables, types and options with sake?!! Our hotel was a bit away, but easily took the train and Apple Maps got us there with ease. We learned more than we could have imagined, enjoyed multiple sakes - loved how the tasting was divided by tasting and then tasting again with perfectly paired food bites- it was amazing! Highly recommend this tour, have a great time!

Amazing workshop! Jeff was awesome
This was an awesome experience! The reservation included free glassware to use but for an extra charge, we could choose from pieces with the Great Wave and Cherry Blossoms. Jeff was super helpful walking us through the workshop and making sure our pieces looked perfect. He even cleaned them one final time before wrapping them up for travel. Would do again

Fun for kids
Wonderful experience with kids. Cute and fun and not too long of a commitment if you’re trying to fit a bunch in. Kids had a great time and I got some really fun photos to remember. Guided tour was animated and engaging. Little packed in… so if you’re claustrophobic, make other plans.

Great experience
I enjoyed the tour very much. It was a hot hot day but most of the walking thru the market was cool and easy. The tastings were interesting and Takuma did a Great job explaining to me a lot of Japanese culture and language. The three hours was more than enough. I was the only one on this tour so Takuma took his time, was very kinda and did a really good job.
