Nishiki Market Food Tour
Jasmine was a great guide in the Nishiki Market. She took us to four different food vendors and encouraged us to stop whenever we wanted. She is friendly, warm, with perfect English. Highly recommend and go early, before the crowds gather.

Nishiki Market Tour with great taste
We had a great morning in the Nishiki Market with our guide Hikaru. The food was delicious and we tried things we had never had. Hikaru was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this tour to our family and friends.

Food is to be experienced
Walking around Kyoto, getting to know good places to eat, experiencing food… is just one of the best ways to get to know a place, people and culture. Nishiki market, basement of Daimaru all offer a variety of food unimaginable!

Amy was very friendly and knowledgeable and had lots of snacks for us to try.
She led us through the market and had us try lots of other things that we wouldn’t have on our own.

A great way to see the market
We had a small group of 5. The walk was easy and informative. Amy brought a backpack full of goodies for us to sample along our walk. The market was great and crowded. I would have liked to little more time in there but we returned after the tour. Our lunch was in a department store restaurant - while it was good I would have preferred a local food stand. Overall this was a good tour with lots of information on Japanese culture and the impact of Shinto and Buddhist religions!

A good tour to see and learn about the entire market.
A good guided tour of the market and its history, which helped make sense of it and gave a great opportunity to try a few different types of foods. It certainly made it easier to go back and continue walking through and exploring.

Yuki was an excellent tour guide and had a great sense of humor that helped propel the tour. I may have been the only person on today’s tour, but I can imagine that his approach would make larger groups feel similarly. The food was great and he was more than happy to stop at several stalls all along Nishiki Market.

Great city, people, & food
We had a great time with the host and tour group walking the area around and inside Nishiki Market. I thought all the food was great and a couple of items (various pickles and a croquette) were some of the tastiest we’ve had so far in Tokyo or Kyoto. I can’t remember the guide’s name but he’s an architecture student and was extremely kind and informative and did a great job navigating a group around the busy Nishiki.

Wonderful way to experience Nishiki Market
Yuko was a wonderful host to our family of 4 (two kids 9,11). She was kind, informative, and knew all of the must have foods to try. It was a lovely way to get an insider’s view and experience the market. We’d highly recommend.
