Top Kununurra Day Trips

Experience the wild beauty of Western Australia as you embark on a leisurely cruise from Lake Kununurra between Diversion Dam and Lake Argyle. Board your vessel and enjoy the ride through gorge country, keeping your eyes peeled for local wildlife such as birds and crocodiles. Cruise to the sprawling Lake Argyle and then turn back around to witness a beautiful sunset on the way back to Kununurra.

Discover the natural wonders of Purnululu National Park in the Kimberley region of Western Australia on a scenic flight from Kununurra. You'll fly over sights such as the Bungle Bungle Range, Ord River, and Lake Argyle, and then land inside the park to explore on the ground. Take a 1.8-mile (3-km) walk with a guide to see Cathedral Gorge and the beehive-shaped structures along the Domes Walk.

Purnululu's Bungle Bungle range is remote and best seen from more than one angle, which is hard to arrange by yourself from Kununurra. Cover it in a single day by air and on the ground: a small-plane flight over the beehive domes, with aerial views of Lake Argyle and the Argyle Diamond Mine, then a 4WD trip into the park. Hike through Piccaninny Creek to Cathedral Gorge, with the option to add a helicopter flight.
