A Very Worthwhile Experience.

Pastor picked me up at my hotel which wasn’t on the menu options so we were off to a great start. He was very knowledgeable about many things and I enjoyed conversing with him. We went to all areas of the city including Nelson Mandelas home. I really enjoyed getting to walk around Nelson Mandela Sq. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Constitution Hill and had a great guide there as well. We finished off on the seedier side and had a bit of a walk around enjoying some street art. It was a wonderful 4 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed Pastor’s commentary and I learned so much about the city and history.

This was a great tour and all things were as described. You even have the opportunity to go into a Soweto development and meet some of the people and see the life they live. The tour guide stops at a few special spots to take photos of the individuals on the tour (if you want them). I also enjoyed the museum visits. As a solo woman, I felt safe on this tour.

Must do tour of Sterkfontein Caves and the Cradle of Humankind museum.

I went on a tour of the Cradle of Humankind and Sterkfontein Caves near Johannesburg with Swangs Safaris. My guide for the day was Katlego. Katlego picked me up perfectly on time at my hotel. Swangs Safari kept me informed where was supposed to come snd when he had reached the hotel pickup point. Katlego is a very polite, smart, young man with the innate skill to connect with people. I wish him all the success in his career. The drive to the Sterkfontein Caves was about an hour but Katlego explained the different neighborhoods and regions we were passing through. The caves were exciting and we learned a lot about the prehistoric site and the fossil digs. Then we went to the Cradle of Humankind museum. It was also very informative. I was not a huge fan of the little boat ride inside. I had a wonderful day and highly recommend Swangs Safaris and my guide, Katlego.

Unexpected Adventure

It all started with being picked up from my hotel and being transported to my lodge outside of Kruger. I think being driven there was convenient plus getting to see the country as you ride through the countryside and mountains. However, after getting settled in you are sent off on a sunset safari once you mkae your dinner reservations — this is important since I didn't get back until 9 pm. The following morning comes early for sunrise (July), leaving at 5:30 am. However, losing a few hours of sleep is worth it in order to see the majesty of an African sunrise and spending the better part of 11 hours seeing all sorts of animals. Betwern the two days I saw an African wild dog, baboon, cameleon, cape buffalo, crocodile, elephant, giraffe (and a black giraffe), guinea fowl, hippo, honey badger, hyena (with pups!), impala, kudu, leopard, mongoose, owl, strarling, various monkeys, vulture, warthog, water monitor, wildebeest, and other fauna. The last day was unexpected but I can't overstate how beautiful God's Window and Blyde River Canyon is. I feel like these attractions weren't given enough attention in the tour details. Of note, Blyde River Canyon is the third largest canyon in the world and rhe largest GREEN canyon. I felt like my needs werr taken care of but be prepared for long rides by car going to and leaving Kruger, but it was nice to just be a passenger and witness the country. My only critique is while dinner is paid for the first day you arrive, it is not accomodated on the second. However, overall, it was a great experience and very memorable.

This tour was recommended by a friend. Thanks to Thepo, we saw so much of Joburg and Soweto we otherwise would have missed. He showed us downtown neighborhoods and important landmarks before taking us around Soweto and joining us for a delicious braai. Trip ended at the Apartheid Museum. Standing in historic places during the anti-apartheid movement was quite emotional. I'm really glad we took this tour.

Great day trip

This was a great day trip from Joburg, and our guide, Lebo, made the experience even better. His extensive knowledge, both historical and contemporary, established a clear context for the places we visited and the things we saw. When visiting the caves, be sure to wear sturdy shoes and be aware that crawling, stooping, and many stairs are involved. The museum was beautifully laid out, and we really enjoyed the whole experience!

Truly magical. This tour had the best guide that I’ve worked with in all of Africa. He was incredibly knowledgeable. He was extremely patient. There were portions where we felt like there’s not a chance to see a leopard or cheetah and he continued to patiently wait and work with the other guide guides to help us find them. This tour made my whole trip! The guide alone was worth the money.

Tour was able to pick me up from my hotel even though it wasn't on their list. The drivers, Sibu and Titus, were courteous and personable. Our game drive guide, Peter, did a great job getting us just in time to the spot where we saw a leopard cross the road. Lunch was delicious. Our visit to the Cradle of Humankind was an excellent experience, and our driver MK was a wonderful guide. This private tour was very personalized, with full attention given to our needs and questions throughout the day. Highlights included the Maropeng Visitor Centre and the Sterkfontein Caves. Although I was unable to enter the caves because of my disability and difficulty bending or stooping, MK went above and beyond to explain everything so thoroughly that I never felt I missed out. Highly recommended.

Perfect Safari Experience for First Timers and the Cautious

The Lion and Safari Park was the perfect experience for us, especially given that my girlfriend has a real phobia of animals. This was a great way to ease into it without feeling overwhelmed. From the start, everything was well organized. Our driver picked us up and gave us an outstanding overview on the way, setting the tone for the day. Once we arrived, our guide took over and did an excellent job. Knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. We were able to see a wide range of animals in a controlled, safe environment, which made all the difference. It gave us the opportunity to experience the wildlife without the intensity of a full safari.
