A Wonderful Experience Exploring Addis Ababa and Ethiopia

Yonas and Amanuel made our trip both enjoyable and educational. Yonas was our guide and driver, and he has an incredible depth of knowledge about Ethiopian history, Addis Ababa’s history and development, its landmarks, culture, and everyday life. Amanuel also shared many interesting insights, and both patiently answered all our questions. We learned a great deal throughout the tour. Yonas handled Addis Ababa’s busy traffic confidently, and the vehicle was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The whole team was helpful, supportive, and professional from the beginning. They arranged knowledgeable guides and made sure everything went smoothly. We also appreciated their flexibility in adapting the tours to our interests. We couldn’t have asked for more. Layover in Addis Ababa

Biruk was an amazing guide! Easy pick up at the airport and then was flexible during the whole day. I like how he asked about my interests so that we could prioritize where to go and what to see. He explained a lot about the history and modernization of the city and country. We went to the market area, saw Lucy at the Museum (which is a must and Biruk was great at providing all of the important explanations and details throughout the museum), mount Entoto, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral (St. George’s was under renovation). The best part of the trip was the coffee ceremony with Biruk and our driver. It was great to sit and eat all together in the Ethiopian style, try local drinks and watch the whole coffee process. Highly recommend this tour and guide!

Great, quick city tour

We had about an eight hour layover so booked a quick city tour. Our guide was Henok and he was excellent. He arrived early and took us to all the sites we requested in four hours-The National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Tamoca Coffee, the market and a few other highlights. He was very knowledgeable and a really nice guy. Addis Ababa is a fascinating place so recommend this tour if you don’t have much time.

Great way to see the countryside and get outside of the city!

It was really cool to see the countryside and what things are like outside the city. Our guide Niko was excellent. He explained things to us as we drove to the destinations, and shared about Ethiopia. He even brought us to some places to shop for coffee after we got back to Addis. He took us to local places to eat and try the local beer/liquor which was really cool because we never would have done that ourselves. The church had so much history and was beautiful. A priest showed us around and took us through the museum. The Portuguese bridge was stunning. The waterfall and the views from the top were beautiful. I would definitely recommend!

We had an early evening excursion time due to our layover so certain places were closed. However, Athnatios and Yonas still made sure we had a good time. We absolutely enjoyed this excursion. We got to see the first church of Ethiopia and take in all the history, we went to the highest point of the city for stunning views (better than the views from the empire state building), and we tried some good local cuisine. They were so knowledgeable and just fun to be around. I only wish we had more time. Book this tour!

Culture and history - Orthodox Church

This was great. Would have been better with a guide, and one that speaks English. Long drive there and back with bad roads. But the baboon stop, the monastery and the Portuguese stop especially are well worth it. The food stop was a miss for me though. Little bit of a dive. One one traveler felt comfortable eating there. Overall still well worth it. Pack your food and drinks. I’d go for the Portuguese bridge alone 10/10.
