Itinerary

Get picked up from your Falmouth hotel or from the Falmouth cruise port in the morning, continuing to the stables where you’ll start your riding. After getting paired with a horse that’s suited to your riding experience and ability, you’ll head out for your horseback adventure.

Continue on horseback through the scenic Jamaican countryside, passing by idyllic small farms and lush scenery as you ride. As you proceed your fun-loving guides will share jokes and details about Jamaican history to help put your trip into context. Soon you’ll ride up to an abandoned airstrip that dates back to World War II. Although the airstrip doesn’t get much use these days, some enterprising smugglers did use it at one point for transporting marijuana.

Proceed onward as you horseback riding group eventually reaches Jamaica’s northern shore. Spend some time soaking up the sights, frolicking with your horse, and swimming on this private beach area. If you’re interested, you can even try bareback swimming in the water while still on your trusty steed.

Finish your ride amidst a lush environment of pimento trees, fishtail palms, and bougainvillea, where you can sit back with a cool drink and admire the hummingbirds that often frequent the nearby orchids. You’ll finish back at your original departure point with a drop-off at your Falmouth hotel or at the cruise port.

Lots of Fun!

Robert_C, Feb 2025
Had a very memorable experience and would highly recommend to anyone! The staff was very friendly and tried very hard to make it a memorable experience. They also did a greay job covering safety and ensuring the kids knew how to handle horses as it was a new experience for them. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous experience!

Myself, my partner and our three boys all loved this experience. The guides were helpful and the horses were too! We would all definitely recommend this experience to everyone!

Favorite excursion

Taylor_M, Dec 2023
We booked ahead of a cruise and to our delight, this was our favorite excursion. We were picked up promptly from the Falmouth cruise port and enjoyed an air conditioned drive through the winding hills of Jamaica while chatting with our driver. At the stable, we had access to restrooms and shaded seating areas. We were debriefing on how to ride, where we could go, what to bring etc. Helmets are recommended and provided but not mandatory. A small bag or fanny pack is allowed but avoid big bags that could fall and startle the horses. I brought my camera as well. We formed a line with our horses and went on wide trails to the beach and back. This was maybe 45 min. We then dismounted, took a rest, and whoever was interested in an ocean swim on a horse mounted and entered the water. It was maybe 5ft deep and not a concern for those who cannot swim. Floatation devices are available for anyone who desires one. It was a magical experience being on the back of a horse while wading through the water. The water ride was maybe 5 minutes. We were invited to hang out at the beach and chairs provided. We ended up chatting with the owner and a few others before heading back. SAFETY: We felt safe during our drive and excursion and I would recommend it for females traveling in groups or solo. At no time were we concerned for our safety, which hasn't been the case on other excursions and in other countries. TIME: We were picked up at 8:30am from the port. It took 30 min to get there. We started around 9:30am. The trail ride was about 45 min. The sea ride was about 5 min. This doesnt sound like much but it felt just right for us. We were a little sore for a few days! We could have headed back around 11:30am. We chatted with everyone, enjoyed the beach and left at 12:30pm. We were back at the port by 1pm for shopping and lunch. There was an option to stop at a restaurant on the way back but we opted to enjoy the beach at the stable propwrty instead. PRO TIP: Check out the sealife along the bank with 6 trees (beside the stable). There are sea urchins, sea anemone, and beautiful tropical fish. WHAT TO BRING: Pack a bathing suit and change into it after the trail ride. A towel, if you want. Camera or phone for photos. Close-toed shoes are recommended but some people were wearing sandals and skirts/shorts. Sunglasses. Reefsafe Sunscreen - we like 'Pipette Mineral Sunscreen - SPF 50 Broad Spectrum Baby Sunblock with Non-Nano Zinc' from Amazon. Tip money. Bug spray wasnt necessary for us but others applied it.

Must give it a try

Carla_H, Dec 2022
I love it when we went into the water. It was very serene. The owner and her helpers were very friendly and she told us about the her love for horses and how the business was started.

Family fun

Roy_A, Dec 2022
We had a nice time, the host were great. My friend lost her cell phone and one of the riders went back searched and found it in the bushes. Make sure you check the weight capacity.

Unique private family experience

Csongor_C, Aug 2022
The horses were very healthy, well treated and well dressed. The views of our horse ballade were scenic and the swim was really pleasant. The owner was extremely kind looking for enhancing our experience by showing us how much the horses like mangoes and we could also taste some almonds. We could even stay longer on the beach after the ride&swim, which was also appreciated by our kids!

Great Experience

Natasha_H, Apr 2019
I'll never forget this experience! I had a wonderful time. The only thing I regret is not purchasing one of the photos offered! This was a great time with wonderful guides. I highly recommend it!
