It is a great experience, but be prepared to travel to and from takes most of the time. The meal at San Antonio was delicious.

Never got to go. Showed up at the selected meeting place and waited for 30 minutes. We were trying to contact the number on provided and was messaging through the app and received NO response. All of our confirmations had the correct day/date on them. We later received a message that they said they had us on for the next day. I have a hard time believing that. Our money was refunded but due our schedule we missed out on this potentially wonderful experience. I urge Viator to vet out this vendor.

No show, no call, no phone call returned, never answered my email, disappointing when you only have a few days to vacation

We were on a cruise ship and our tour guide Carlos communicated with us through What’s App and met us at the lighthouse. When getting off cruise ship everyone needs to take a free shuttle bus to a transport station in Progreso. The lighthouse is just around the corner from there. Carlos met us on time and we were very comfortable riding in his vehicle to the cenotes. It is a fairly long drive, so be prepared for that. We visited Canunchin and San Antonio cenotes. Both were a great experience! There are steep steps with handrails to enter. Lifejackets are provided. We wore and swam with waterproof sandals which was ideal. It was not crowded and water was clean and refreshing. Lunch was provided at San Antonio and was excellent food. Carlos was a great guide and was attentive.
We did have an issue with only being taken to 2 cenotes when the description of tour says we will go to 3. Carlos spoke to his local tour operator by phone and he confirmed that we would only see 2. I contacted Viator about this via website and I was promptly given a partial refund that I requested as the tour was not exactly as described. Viator made it right. The only other issue was tour says lunch is provided/included. We provided staff a tip and started to leave when we were told we had to pay for meal. I spoke with Carlos our guide and he confirmed with restaurant staff that our lunch was included. Staff then told him that our drinks ( 2 bottles of coke) were NOT included. It does not mention this anywhere in description. Carlos paid for those for us. The meal was excellent but this confusion over paying for it was awkward.
Overall, great experience and we would recommend Carlos.

Rod_v we are very sorry for the small details that occurred in the restaurant, but in the restaurant only one complimentary drink per person is included. You had already chosen 2 cokes. The water you ordered afterwards is what they were charging you for. Thank you for your opinion and we will work harder to ensure that these small details do not happen again, we sincerely apologize and we hope to improve over time and our customers are satisfied 🙏

We met with Pedro. He took our groups picture He said he needed to go to the bank to get paid. We told him to go to the bank on his own time. He left our group of 5 in a van with Gary, the driver. After 20 minutes, Pedro never came back. We left the van and went back to the ship! I would like my $200.00 USD to be refunded.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
We regret that you have decided to get off the van, the stops we make are already planned with the time to return 1 hour early and board your boat on time. In this case we cannot make any type of refund since all expenses that day are paid. since many people move for their reservation, (guides, drivers, gasoline, transportation and the places that one visits. On the other hand, we picked them up on time at the meeting point, their score is very hard since they did not even give us the opportunity to offer our services, cordial greetings.

Loved the invigorating experience as we swam in the cenote. Manuel was a knowledgeable host and added a lovely lunch at a unique spot outside of a cenote!
