Laura was a wonderful tour guide. Provided clear description of what to expect, where to meet etc with humor. Stopped at a pretty little village before arriving at the trail. Challenging trail but very doable. Very interesting history. Great day trip. Well organized from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience and definitely couldn’t have done it without the help of Javi, David, and the local guides at the Caminito! We learned lots of great info about the Caminito and went at a moderate pace that was easy for all ages to enjoy. Made our trip to Malaga even more exciting!

Overview

Swap the busy streets of Malaga for the natural landscapes of Caminito del Rey, a path once considered one of the most dangerous trails in the world. Following a reconstruction, this walkway reopened in 2015 and is now safe and accessible to all—its mountain scenery is some of the most stunning in Andalucia. Follow your guide along a route suspended over 328 feet (100 meters) without worrying about getting lost, and cross the canyon on a suspension bridge. Plus, stop in a charming Andalusian town along the way.
  • Letting someone else drive you means you can relax
  • Listen to facts about the place as you walk through the natural canyons
  • Discover more about local geography and culture than you would alone
  • Stop at a typical white Andalusian town for coffee or a bathroom break

The walk is spectacular and the drive there gives you a taste of the beautiful countryside and villages of the area. Pedro the tour organiser was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The guide on the walk was engaging too. I will definitely revisit the area and do this walk again.

Camino Del Rey Shore Excursion from a Cruiser

Dan_T, May 2026
I loved my tour through Viator to hike Caminito Del Rey! Our guide Tina was so kind and encouraging! I learned so much!! The excursion was so prompt with the times! We made it back to the ship with time to spare! 10:30 am pick up with drop off at about 5:10 pm. The hike was gorgeous!!! I highly recommend!!

Lots of fun

Robert_T, May 2026
Awesome experience Lots of walking and breath taking scenery Ana the Viator bus tour made it fun. Tina the Camineto del Rey tour guide was awesome and very informative. We had an awesome experience. If you have bad knees and afraid of heights... Think twice.

Great tour for those with good mobility

Mark_B, May 2026
Fantastic scenery and walk. Janet did a great job of moving some of the slow walkers who really should not have been on the tour. It is a good walk and if you have a walking stick or cannot climb steps quickly then don’t book this tour.

A very special experience you won’t want to miss. Our guides Miguel & Tony were excellent, professional and knowledgeable.

Excellent. Would recommend.

Sue_C, Apr 2026
Great experience walking the Caminito Del Rey. All ran to time and instructions etc were really clear. Laura was a great guide and we had a great driver.

Cristobal was our guide...

Kathy_L, Apr 2026
Cristobal was our guide and we really enjoyed him. He kept the group moving and together. Janet was the guide on the bus and gave us a lot of information along the way. She also did a great job making sure everyone was on the bus.

Worthwhile walk but a lot of waiting around

Barbara_F, Apr 2026
The walk is wonderful and worth seeing but the trip is very dragged out with too much waiting at the first town we stopped at and at the end. Could be done in half the time.

Great day trip¹

Caminitas del rey

Patrick_J, Apr 2026
Great experience. The tour is offered in English and Spanish. Our tour guide Laura allowed us to separate and have a private experience if we wanted as well. Stopped in a white town on the way for a coffee and lunch. Not included

Disappointed, poor equipment

Martin_W, Apr 2026
During the drive, the bus door opened forcing the driver to pull over. We were then diverted to a depot to switch Bus. Upon finally arriving at Camino del Ray Alma told us her contact info would be shared just in case we got lost. instead of sharing her contact info on the bus, Alma had us disembark into a crowd of hundreds of other tourists to find us individually, causing confusion and further delays. Because of this we were late for our hike, where the male guide mumbled making it difficult to understand and never stopped at important spots like others we saw. It felt the guide was going for a walk with us tagging behind. Between the lack of English, poor quilty headphones, disorganization, this was not worth the money.

Nature vs buildings.

Betsy_P, Apr 2026
This is such a fantastic thing to do. The views were stunning, the guide was fantastic and the activity was great. If you want to spend your time in nature and you’re tired of churches and palaces, this one is for you!

Excellent value - great trip

Lindy_M, Apr 2026
The entire tour was well worth the money. It was well organized - the tour guide, Anna, was excellent & the bus driver was experienced & safe. It was so much easier than trying to do the trip ourselves. The Caminito del Rey tour was, of course, wonderful as well, with very informative guides. We had a truly great day.

Excellent, must do trip

Kerry_G, Apr 2026
This was an excellent trip from start to finish, would 100% recommend. Our guide Janet was very informative, we thoroughly enjoyed the day.

It is a lovely experience...

Miodrag_F, Apr 2026
It is a lovely experience and a very interesting blend of geology, engineering - energy, civil and transport. It is not a difficult trek physically, but if one is scared of heights (sheer drops, wobbly suspension bridge(s), etc.), it may not be the best idea. In the heat it will be difficult for many.

Fantastic Experience

Marion_S, Apr 2026
Wear appropriate clothing and especially good walking shoes. Bring water and snacks Allow 7hrs for trip

Beautiful and worthwhile

mgs0717, Apr 2026
Well organized from transport to/from Caminito del Rey and excellent guide once there. The views were stunning. Not a tour for people afraid of heights.

Do the trip with a different company

Leah_Q, Apr 2026
Great place to visit horrible tour. The walk is worth every minute. Absolutely stunning. This tour was awful. Dirty bus over booked! Guide split us into two groups. Group one had a local guide with headsets and tons of information. Group two ( our group ) had the tour guide from bus, Janet, no headsets, she set us on our own and did a private tour for 4 of the Spanish speaking guests. Truly unbelievable how the 2 groups had 2 very different experiences. We all had an old dirty bus and a bus driver who hit the brakes so hard we our stuff went flying. Do the trip with a different tour

Amazing views! We really enjoyed the hike and the stories provided! Definitely worth the trip if you have a day.

Amazing experience

Paul_N, Apr 2026
Pack light, it’s an easy walk and there are opportunities to buy before and after the walk. Guides are super knowledgable, experience of being 100m’s above rushing water feels safe always.

Great day

Kathryn_W, Apr 2026
Great day out. We were unfortunately delayed due to an accident on the road to caminito so missed the village visit but that didn’t matter , we really enjoyed the walk. On a hot day it would have been really tough though the weather was overcast for us which was perfect!

Well worth the trip.

marie_h, Apr 2026
Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Felt relaxed and enjoyable. We had considered doing a trip ourselves but we were glad we booked. Smooth ,easy and good value. We were a family group of 7. Ages 15 to 70. We all rated it highly.

This is a true adventure especially for those who enjoy the outdoors and raw nature. The tour guide was very good giving lots of insight into the history and practicalities of the Hydroelectric dam, geology and nature.
