How the other half live
This Tour was an Eye opener. Vincent my guide was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of things in Kibera. I felt very safe throughout. There’s fair bit of walking through very narrow alleys Vincent was very helpful to make sure I was fine. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who has interest in reality of this world

Amazing unexpected experience
This was a wonderful visit that I was not expecting while traveling to Kenya. Our guides Elijah and Effy were simply amazing, as well as Lucas who joined us at the school. There made sure to informed us about the history and life of Kibera and were kindly making sure that everyone could understand, as most of us were not native English speakers. I would recommend this visit to anyone visiting Nairobi to get a different perspective on this world and its ways.

Excellent tour, don't miss this unique opportunity to learn and support
Very interesting and enlightening tour on life in the Kibera slum. We felt completely safe and even welcomed by the people we encountered on our walk. The tour finished at the SEED foundation primary school where we met some of the teachers and children, who performed songs for us in one of the rooms. Booking this tour ensures that money goes back into the local community.

The Kibera tour is an...
The Kibera tour is an eye-opening and deeply meaningful experience. Despite being known as the largest slum, it is a place full of life, warmth, and incredibly kind people. Our guide, who was raised in Kibera, was highly knowledgeable and shared valuable insights into daily life and the challenges faced by the community. Additionally, the entry fee goes toward developing and supporting a school for underprivileged children, which makes the experience even more impactful.

Welcoming Smiles and Powerful Stories in Kibera
I had an incredibly moving and memorable experience visiting Kibera, guided by Elijah and organised by Lucas. From start to finish, it felt authentic, respectful, and genuinely insightful.
What stood out most to me was the contrast between what you might expect and what you actually find. There is a real sense of order within the chaos — from the tidy, well-organised market to the intricate maze of streets, everything has its place and rhythm. It completely reshaped my perception.
The people we met were warm, welcoming, and full of life. The children in particular were some of the most polite, kind, and joyful I’ve ever encountered. I was fortunate enough to spend time at a school run by my guides, and that was easily one of the most profound and humbling moments of the entire trip.
Around every corner, there was another story — not of hardship alone, but of resilience, community, and hope.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to better understand Nairobi beyond the surface, in a way that is both eye-opening and deeply human.

Beyond Safari: A Life-Changing Visit to Kibera with Kevin & Ismael
Our visit to Kibera was one of the most powerful and eye-opening experiences my wife and I have ever had. Unlike the safari tours that focus on Kenya’s breathtaking wildlife and landscapes, this tour focused on something even more important — the people. Kibera is considered the largest informal settlement in Africa, with nearly 800,000 people living there. Before the tour even began, our amazing guide Kevin picked us up from our hotel in Nairobi. During the drive, he gave us a detailed and honest introduction to Kibera’s history, its current situation, and the many initiatives being taken to uplift the community — including projects he and his brother Ismael personally lead to support local families.
From the very beginning, we felt this would be a meaningful experience.
As we walked through different areas of Kibera, we witnessed the harsh reality of how people live there. The conditions are undeniably difficult. However, what touched us most was something deeper: the incredible sense of community.
Despite the challenges, the bonds between people seemed stronger than ever. Everyone was kind, supportive, and respectful toward one another. There was dignity, warmth, and humanity everywhere we looked.
Kevin guided us thoughtfully and respectfully, explaining daily life while ensuring we felt comfortable at all times.
One of the most special moments of the tour was visiting Ismael’s home. Meeting his family was a privilege. They welcomed us with such warmth and kindness — we immediately felt like friends, not visitors.
Sitting together, sharing conversations, and experiencing life inside a home in Kibera is something that truly raises awareness and shifts perspectives. It reminds you that behind statistics and headlines, there are families, dreams, and love.
The most emotional and uplifting part of the tour was visiting the local orphanage and school that supports more than 250 children.
We met several classes, their teachers, and the principal and founder of the school. The dedication of everyone involved is extraordinary.
But the real highlight? The children.
Their smiles, their hugs, their discipline, their respect — they genuinely change you. These are incredibly well-educated and well-mannered kids who radiate hope and potential. It was inspiring to see the excellent work being done by those supporting their education and upbringing.
This part of the tour will stay in our hearts forever. We were also impressed by how discreet and respectful the local residents were. Not a single person approached us to sell something or ask for money. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Most importantly, not even for a single moment did we feel unsafe.
We truly loved the local community.
We ended the experience with a stop at a bone handicraft shop — a wonderful final touch that supports local artisans and allows visitors to contribute directly to the community.
This tour is not just a visit. It is an experience that changes the way you see the world. It reminds you of what really matters — community, resilience, dignity, and hope.
Kevin and Ismael, who were born and raised in Kibera, are doing incredible work alongside many others to uplift their community. By joining this tour, you not only learn — you also contribute in a small but meaningful way to their efforts.
We strongly encourage everyone visiting Nairobi to take this tour. It will move you, inspire you, and stay with you forever.

Best tour ever! Must do in Nairobi
The guide is from the area, and he showed us around the market, local shops, a women’s organisation, his house, his mother’s house, and the school. What they do to support the community is amazing, and we truly enjoyed the tour. It was an unforgettable experience and we totally recommend it.
