Our Soweto tour was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience! Tshepo was an incredibly personable, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. His enthusiasm and contagious energy made the experience even more enjoyable. He shared so many pearls of wisdom about Soweto’s history that brought the stories and significance of the community to life. Visiting Nelson Mandela’s former home and the site of the Soweto Uprising was deeply moving and powerfully emotional. Standing in these historic places gave us a much deeper appreciation for the struggles, sacrifices, and resilience of the people who shaped South Africa’s history. Our visit to the Apartheid Museum was equally powerful and emotional. The entire experience was both enlightening and humbling—a tour that I will remember for a long time. Great Surprises in Soweto

My guide was terrific. He shared both official history and his personal perspectives. So much was packed into a four hour tour. One of many surprises was that Soweto is one of the safest places to visit because it has a vibrant community that takes care of its people. More people should know that.

Wonderful tour!

We were warned that we might not see all the animals and we were prepared to not see it, but we’re blessed with an overcast somewhat rainy day, and we saw so many things! The only thing that we were not able to experience were the elephants up close. We did see them though from far away at the base of the mountains! Still got some great pictures! This was a once in a lifetime thing to do! Our guide Tabo was so informative!

An Interesting and Emotional Experience

A great overview of Johannesburg its surrounds and its history. Visiting Constitution Hill where both Ghandi and Mandela were imprisoned for a time was very interesting. The Apartheid Museum was emotional and confronting. The guide at the museum was amazing and very knowledgeable. We were there for 2 hours but could have stayed longer to really take in all the information. Our visit to Soweto, Nelson Mandela’s House and the Hector Pieterson Memorial was also informative and very touching. I loved learning about the history and culture.

Must do tour of Sterkfontein Caves and the Cradle of Humankind museum.

I went on a tour of the Cradle of Humankind and Sterkfontein Caves near Johannesburg with Swangs Safaris. My guide for the day was Katlego. Katlego picked me up perfectly on time at my hotel. Swangs Safari kept me informed where was supposed to come snd when he had reached the hotel pickup point. Katlego is a very polite, smart, young man with the innate skill to connect with people. I wish him all the success in his career. The drive to the Sterkfontein Caves was about an hour but Katlego explained the different neighborhoods and regions we were passing through. The caves were exciting and we learned a lot about the prehistoric site and the fossil digs. Then we went to the Cradle of Humankind museum. It was also very informative. I was not a huge fan of the little boat ride inside. I had a wonderful day and highly recommend Swangs Safaris and my guide, Katlego.

Truly magical. This tour...

Truly magical. This tour had the best guide that I’ve worked with in all of Africa. He was incredibly knowledgeable. He was extremely patient. There were portions where we felt like there’s not a chance to see a leopard or cheetah and he continued to patiently wait and work with the other guide guides to help us find them. This tour made my whole trip! The guide alone was worth the money.

Great experience, fantastic Guides! Definitely recommend! I recommend take the first bus if you also want to do the soweto trip. I took the 12:20 bus at rosebank and took no food stops just did the soweto trip and the day was finished. Took the last bus at 16:30. But if your plan is just sightseeing then Definitely go for it!!!!!!

What a great experience!

The Lion Park was worth every penny! If you’re able to go on a feeding day it makes the trip that more spectacular and exciting. I got to witness 3 feedings (Lions, Cheetahs and African Dogs), other encounters included black leopard, Ostrich, Giraffes (which I got to feed), lots of other animals.
