This tour was truly one of the highlights of my entire trip to Japan! My guide, Amy, was absolutely fantastic: knowledgeable, funny, warm, and genuinely caring. From the very beginning, she made the experience feel less like a traditional tour and more like exploring Kyoto with a wonderful friend. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and thoughtful attention to every detail made the day incredibly special. She was always happy to answer questions, share fascinating stories, and make sure I felt comfortable and included. What stood out most was her genuine kindness and passion for sharing Kyoto’s history, culture, and hidden treasures. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience this beautiful city. The entire day was engaging, memorable, and filled with laughter. I walked away with a much deeper appreciation for Kyoto and memories I’ll treasure for years. I cannot recommend this tour or Amy highly enough! If you’re visiting Kyoto, do yourself a favor and book it. You won’t regret it!

We had a lovely experience spending the day with Paul. He was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and a very fun person to spend time with. We appreciated his insights into local life and culture. Paul was happy and obliging to let us tailor the day to our own pace and agenda. Highly recommend this tour.

This was one of our favorite activities we did during our two weeks in Japan. Our guide, Rob, was awesome! He shared so much with us about culture and religion and the region. He was super knowledgeable and really kept everyone engaged. The ride was lovely! Not just the bamboo forest but also the small streets around the neighborhood and my favorite part which was going out through the rice fields and small country roads that border Kyoto at the base of the surrounding hills. Even in the crazy summer heat, this was still a fantastic experience.
