What are people saying about Inverness

Edging Around the Loch.
The tour was a perfect overview of the area--riding through the countryside, punctuated with short stops, like Foyer's Falls. ample bathroom breaks, and the finale--traversing the loch by boat.
Our guide, Charlie, did not fill every minute on the coach with chatter, which was appreciated. Some Scottish music and some quiet time. Again, much appreciated. After all, the landscapes speak for themselves.

andrew = reason for highest score!
Our host/driver Andrew (and Ross!) were unbelievable. The 12-hour tour is a really long day and I don't know that I'd do that again, it was worth it for Andrew's stories alone. He regaled us with stories of Scottish history (which then was helpful for our trip later!), was so kind and made us all feel safe and taken care of. The stops were great, just felt like a lot of time in the bus at times. Not sure you need to do the lunch option as it appeared as if there were spots in Portree to grab lunch at (we went on a Monday end of April).

Wonderful day
While this tour is long, it is well worth the time. Our guide, Alec, was very knowledgeable about the sites and history of the areas we toured but also the geologic history. The weather couldn’t have been any better - it can be dreary - but we had blue sky and sunshine. Eilean Donan castle is well worth the entrance fee; Portree, where we had lunch, was walkable. The stops for the scenic views made the trip memorable.

Great tour
Well worth the time. Small group which truly allows for more time at each stop. Our driver, Alex, was funny and knowledgeable about all the sites along the way. Urquart Castle is breathtaking and well worth the entrance fee. It is walkable although spread out. Loch Ness is beautiful - the cruise informative. Unfortunately no sign of Nessie. More than enough time at each stop. I would recommend this tour.

Excellent day trip and tour from Inverness
This was a 9-hour tour including a Loch Ness River cruise, Urquhart Castle visit, Robertson Farm visit, lunch in Beauly, a whisky-tasting experience in Glen Ord, Clava Cairns, and Culloden Battlefield and Museum. I checked off the top things to do on my list in one day! The price was reasonable, and the tour guide Martin was delightful. He was pleasant and very knowledgeable about historical details...and fairy tales! I had an awesome experience and highly recommend this tour.

It's a very chill ride....
It's a very chill ride. Takes you through the beautiful Loch Ness with stunning views of Urquhart Castle (my favorite part). It's nothing fancy, but for the price it's worth it. There is an interesting history audio that plays for part of the trip. You can sit inside or outside on the boat.

A must do tour!
This tour is for the adventurer who wants to live through an incredible full senses experience. The Isle of Skye is a must see for those who want to experience a truly special and naturally beautiful terrain. Rugged yet magical, once you immerse yourself you are one with this unique place. The fairy pools are the highlight. So many waterfalls and pools of water rushing in and cascading over the most amazing rock formations.
Our guide Willie was a fun, insightful, and a caring driver. It’ was a long day your, and he managed to keep us entertained with the right balance of story telling and music.
It was a wonderful and spectacular tour which I highly recommend.

This tour was honestly an...
This tour was honestly an amazing experience. I traveled with my two daughters and we had so much fun hearing about the ancient stories of the isles and seeing lots of beautiful scenery. Our driver Doreen and guide Marita were both wonderful and I would 100% recommend this tour.

Can’t stop talking about it
Louise was amazing! (She should literally start a podcast with all the information she had!) This tour hit so many stops we didn’t even know we were going to stop at. The stories and history were amazing! Definitely bring a second pair of clothes (the weather varies).

Exceptional Day with Outstanding Guide Alistair Kennedy
We had an exceptional day on the Loch Ness and Outlander Sites Tour from Inverness, thanks entirely to our outstanding guide, Alistair Kennedy. What makes a great tour guide great? Alistair embodies it all: extremely well-informed, highly articulate, easily understood, and full of infectious enthusiasm. With extensive Highland experience through longstanding family ties and his own life there, plus a military background that gives him deep knowledge of Scottish military history, he brought remarkable expertise to every site we visited.
But beyond knowledge, Alistair is extraordinarily personable and delightful to be with, a wonderful sense of humor, and genuinely a really nice man. He made our small group feel like a family for the day, all part of a unified team enjoying the experience together. He never rushed us, always listened to questions, and delivered information-packed, engaging commentary at every stop.
What makes Alistair truly unique is that even though he's surely seen these sites hundreds of times, his sense of curiosity, awe at the history and nuance, and amazement at what these important sites represent feels completely authentic. It's as if he's seeing them for the first time alongside you. That's the gift of an excellent communicator and passionate guide.
The day was jam-packed with outstanding experiences: the Bronze Age Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, the shores and mysteries of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, whiskey tasting at the Singleton Distillery (Alistair didn't partake as he was driving), and even - at my wife's and another guest's request - a surprise stop where we petted Highland cows! Alistair made it all happen seamlessly.
One exceptional experience after another, led by a truly outstanding guide. Highly recommend!

An excellent day out exploring the Western Highlands
This is a long day, with a lot of ground covered. However, it is well paced and the Jacobite steam train ride in the middle of the day is a definite highlight and a comfortable ride. Ian was a great guide who was very knowledgable about the area and had many stories and local lore to add. He gave us plenty of time to explore various areas we visited, and adapted when one location was full and we couldn't park as planned. I highly recommend a fresh fish lunch in Mailag.

A must see!
FANTASTIC!!! We truly loved this trip. First, our guide, Liall, was amazing. He was professional, informative, and fun! I know it seems like a long day but it's really not. There is plenty to see and it's a great mixture of walking, sightseeing, and driving.
We had just the right amount of time in each spot. Dunrobin Castle was a nice place and the gardens are stunning. It's a great place to pick up a sandwich for take away if needed.
John O'Groats was beautiful. It's where the North Sea meets the Atlantic. There is a great distillery there for a quick flight of whiskey and a sweet treat.
Duncansby Stacks was probably one of my favorite stops. It was a wonderful walk along the cliffs and incredibly ocean view and breathtaking natural wonder of the stacks themselves.
There is so more to this tour and I'm happy we did it. It's such great way to enjoy this northeast area of Scotland without driving ourselves. We were able to sit back and relax during the drive and really see the gorgeous landscape.
Thank you Liall for making our day great! Your first aid skills were a blessing on this trip!!! :)
