A wonderful way to experience amazing food in out of the way places. All while hearing about their origin and walking through back streets and laneways. We ate so much and couldn’t finish every dish. Had tried about three different banh mi and was disappointed until we had one on this tour! Our tour guide Ben was wonderful and made it an amazing experience. He was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, the district’s & restaurants we went into.

After a 1.5-2 hours drive, it was a nice travelling by riverboat down the Mekong river before a lovely time at a farming community - listening to folk songs, tasting honey and various candied goods, as well as paddling us on a sampan ride which was special to experience. Lunch was a good spread and delicious on an islet. Our small group tour guide, Khoa/Mr Fa, did a great job looking after us and made us laugh with his stories.

The experience overall was lovely and I truly enjoyed the class and the instructor. The farm setting was beautiful and the cooking itself was a highlight of my trip. However, I wanted to provide feedback on a few aspects that would be especially important for solo travelers. First, I was the only participant in the class. While the one-on-one experience was still enjoyable, I had expected a small group setting and would have appreciated knowing this in advance so I could make an informed decision. It would be very helpful if there were some type of visibility or participant count available at booking so guests can better understand whether the experience will be private or group-based. Second, the return transportation could be improved. At the end of the class, I was placed in a Grab (Uber-type) ride for a 90-minute trip back to the city, but it was arranged on my behalf, so I did not have access to tracking or driver details through the app. As a solo traveler in a rural area, this created a moment of discomfort due to the lack of visibility and communication. I would suggest that future guests be informed if a class is private and that return transportation either be booked directly through the guest’s own app or that clear driver and tracking details be provided in advance so guests can feel fully comfortable and secure.
