I don’t even like wine and this was AWESOME

This tour was the ABSOLUTE BEST. Matthieu is beyond knowledgeable. My favorite part was how fun and interactive the tasting was. I learned so much. I LAUGHED so much (and this was before we even had any alcohol!). The wine was also lovely (truly I don’t even like wine, I just felt like we should do a tasting because we’re in Burgundy…but now I actually enjoy wine. Like I said, incredible experience).

I had a good experience at Compass with Pauline. I was fortunate to be the only person that day and I received what was essentially a private class. Pauline is very knowledgeable about Burgundy and answered all of my questions enthusiastically. The cellar location is charming and a great place for the tasting class. We tasted wines from different regions in Burgundy and paired them with cheeses and meats.

We really enjoyed the wine tour eith our guide Paul. We were joined by a family with s very fussy baby and a 3 year old. This did sffect our ability to hear our guide’s wonderful commentary and did impact our enjoyment of the tour. Paul was very helpful in placing us in the front seat of the van which did mitigate the noise. We have been on many many wine tours and never encountered this issue before. Perhaps we could have been informed of the presence of a baby and given the opportunity to reschedule our tour.

Brilliant morning, brilliant guide

Great morning, our guide was exceptional. She clearly knew an enormous amount about wine and was quite the connoisseur, and clearly loved her job. We were fortunate enough to be 2 out of 3 on the trip which was even better. She gave us loads of info as we drove around about the area, not just the wines, which was really appreciated. The vineyards we stopped at were really interesting too, and they too were passionate about the trade. All in all, can't recommend highly enough !

Excellent tour through the surrounding countryside and vineyards of Dijon. Mathilde was an excellent guide and did a great job of answering all of our questions and making sure the group felt taken care of. Great option if you've been to Beaune before and would like to explore other estates not easily accessible by train.
