Buenos Aires to Montevideo

Crossing the Río de la Plata on a swift but scenic ferry ride for a day trip from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Montevideo, Uruguay is a popular South American experience. In the Uruguayan capital, you’ll have time to explore the grand architecture of Plaza Independencia, see the Palacio Salvo, and wander through the Old City. Most tours also include a comprehensive guided visit to key areas such as Avenida 18 de Julio and the El Prado neighborhood. You can also enjoy lunch—Uruguayan steak is a must—at a local restaurant and a visit to Pocitos beach before returning to Buenos Aires.
