Starting in November, we offer the tour to see slipperies and bring them into the water, so save them from their enemies the crab! We conduct the excursion in a small group. and each guest will see the entire process of laying eggs. In addition, each participant has enough time to take photos and/or film. Stephane, one of our local guides, says, ‘The shipwreck is one of Boa Vista's most iconic sights. When the ship ran aground in 1968 the crew escaped unharmed. Strong tugs were sent from neighbouring islands to try to move the ship, but it was stuck fast. It took nearly a year to unload the cargo and take it by mule to Sal Rei.'

We cross the dunes of the magical desert of Viana, a true monument of sand created by the wind, then following the old picturesque road we descend to the bay of Boa Esperança where the gutted wreck of the merchantman Cabo Santa Maria is located (more than 300 ships sunk around the island, it is said due to the strong magnetism of the ground which drove the compasses crazy). Then we will arrive at the capital Sal Rei, a former salt export center, the old port is very interesting, dotted with colorful boats. Opposite is Ilheu de Sal Rei, the islet that houses the ruins of a fort built to protect the old village from pirates. In the central square: the Church of S. From July until October, we find this spectacle down the beach in the evening where big females come to lay their eggs inside the special nests all made by themselves. This beauty is protected by the government with massive support of the locals who engages the conservancy project every year. Nowadays, there are many associations and ONGs with international support who help the conservancy and protection program. There are a limit of tours and people per night per beach to not disturb the turtle processes, (each operator has a limit number of guests per visit).
