ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. This was the most amazing day. The drive, the hikes, the blue eye, the panaromaic photo ops were all out of this world. Our lunch was so delicious and in an incredible spot. Our guide, Marjan, was excellent. He took great care of us, managed our energy well, shared local knowledge, and made it a very memorable day. Recommend him - 5 stars all the way.

Excellent tour in the Albanian north. Beautiful scenery, the hikes were not easy for me (66-yr-old) but manageable. Marjan is very attentive, helpful and has a great personality. It is obvious he loves what he is doing. Would highly recommend.

My absolute favorite day in Albania! I split off from my friends to do this tour solo, and they were so mad they didn’t join me! Marjan was an incredible guide! Super warm, funny, and so knowledgeable about the area and Albania as a whole. There were two other solo female travelers on the tour, and Marjan made sure we all felt completely safe — both on the road and during the hikes. The scenery was literally unbelievable, and every moment felt special. I couldn’t recommend this experience more, and I’ll definitely be back for more adventures! I have already recommended this tour to more of my friends! :)

Spectacular views

A fabulous day with our guide Marjan. The weather wasn’t kind to us unfortunately, we completed the hike and the blue eye was stunning even in the rain. Die to the weather we missed the hike to the waterfall but Marjan took us into Theth and other beautiful places with spectacular views. Lunch was delicious and I would recommend this tour, something we will never forget. Wear good walking shoes is my advice.

Best tour I've been on!

This was a great day trip from Shkoder! Our guide was Vilson and he was phenomenal! We went first to the highest point where we took a quick stop for the bathroom and some coffee/tea and photos of amazing views. We continued to the Blue Eye hike start. This hike is moderate. Vilson was very attentive to my bum knee (I brought hiking poles) and even caught me before I completely wiped out at the very end. The Blue Eye was gorgeous and well worth the hike and the lunch we had after was filling and delicious. We headed back down to hike a shorter path to a waterfall, but it was more steep/rocky. I skipped this hike since falling, but my husband said it was a beautiful waterfall. We made one last stop at a church in the center of Theth where Vilson gave us a quick history lesson. All in all, this tour was great and well worth it. If we were to come back and do it again, I would ask for Vilson!

A Spectacular Day in the Mountains

A truly incredible day! I thought I would have anxiety traversing the mountains but Marjan was skilled and competent driver. You can tell that he loves and respects the land (and has the smoothest fade in the Albanian Alps.) He was very knowledgeable helping our group, and others not in our group, safely navigate some rugged and complicated areas of our hikes to the Blue Eye and Grunas waterfall. The views were breathtaking and so was the hike. I would advise travelers to be physically prepared for the hikes. Admittedly, I wasn’t in the best shape coming off a long winter back home. Having a bad knee, I would have benefitted from a compression brace. I would highly recommend this journey. You will not regret it!

Highlight of our Albanian Trip

This was the best day of our recent trip to Albania. We are a family of 4, with two young adults and it was the highlight of our time. Theth and the Albanian Alps are breathtaking but what made this trip extra special was the knowledge, kindness and expertise of our guides. Marjan was the main guide. This is his business and Claudio was his friend(guide in training) that assisted on the trip. Marjan picked us up close to our hotel, perfectly on time with lots of knowledge about the day ahead. It was a small group with just 2 other people, we were in a comfortable minivan with lots of space and aircon. Marjan started by giving us the plan for the day and then started the 1 hour drive to Bogè,always checking we were comfortable and giving lots of history on Albania along the way. Really taking the time to talk to us all without being too much. At Bogè we had time for pictures before heading to the highest point on the trip with the most stunning view of the Albanian Alps. I have never seen snow like that but the roads were so clear and it was perfect driving conditions for the winding roads of the mountains. Marjans driving skills were second to none and we felt safe and in good hands at all times. He is always on hand with history and to take photos of the family if we wanted them. We had coffee here ( if you want to order but no pressure) with the most stunning view. From here we made our way down to Theth for the hike to the Blue Eye. I have recently damaged the ligaments in both knees so was apprehensive about the hike, I needn't of been, both guided were so conscious of everyone's ability and made sure they assisted those that needed it and added in breaks often. The hike was only around 50 minutes and then you were greeted with the stunning Blue Eye. We had a swim (the cold takes your breath away but again worth it) before hiking back to the restaurant at the bottom. The food and view at the restaurant were some of the best on our trip. We tried chicken,pork and trout and all were fabulous. Again there is no pressure to buy lunch. We had all of the above plus potatoes, fresh salad, bread and soft drinks for 4400ALL which is very good value for money given the quality. After lunch we headed off for our second hike to the waterfall. This is a little more challenging but again Marjan ensures you have enough support and breaks along the way. And the waterfall at the top is totally worth the hike. It was out if this world. We had lots of photo opportunities and have some gorgeous pictures from the day.Marjan took his drone and got lots of the family and the group which he shared with us afterwards and the quality was unreal. You'd be charged a lot for these on other trips. At Theth Church ,our last stop for the day, we were given lots of history and a chance to admire the views . I can't recommend this trip enough for anyone visiting Albania. We were picked up in Shkoder but believe they offer from other places too. Thank you Marjan & Claudio for an amazing day

A Perfect Day in Theth!

What a wonderful experience! From start to finish, the tour was well executed by Marjan who is a local originally from the mountain region near Theth. He is both knowledgeable about Albania and very accommodating as a guide. The views of the snowy Alps were stunning, the hikes were beautiful, and the lunch spot was delicious. The most valuable part of the tour was having Marjan drive the narrow and winding roads which needed some expertise. As a bonus, we had the chance to see him in action as a professional photographer which was quite interesting to watch (even had a moment to see a drone film the scenery over the valley). If you are looking for a personalized experience with a well-trained tour guide, look no further!

Excellent tour! Highly recommend! We did this tour early March. Booked it last minute and so happy. Not many winter tours and this did not disappoint. The hikes were beautiful and not crowded. Pictures and words cannot due justice to the beauty. The tour guide was best I have ever had. Very knowledgeable and friendly…. Like traveling with family. I am older and have problems with my knee. The tour guide adjusted the pace on the hike to accommodate me. Note: the hike is not easy — more moderate….. was a challenge for me. But glad I did it. He also took beautiful pictures for us. Do not hesitate to book with this tour operator when in Shkoder.

I visited Shkodra in December and this was an excellent tour. The national park was quiet because of the time of year, but that makes it a great time to visit. Maryam, the guide, was brilliant. He made everything easy and looked after everyone. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great company for the day. Highly recommended.

We had a great time with our guide Marjan and other people in our group. Communication was very good, transportation was perfect, Marjan is very good at handling the air conditioning and driving on these roads, he is very enthusiastic with a pure and caring soul. He pays attention to everyone, all levels combined. The hike lasts 3 hours with a break, the views are magnificent and worth it. Lunch was perfect, the coffee with the view too; I have excellent memories of this day trip, which lasted from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
