Amazing experience with Volare. Everything was smooth and well organised from start to finish. Our pilot, Juan Manuel Diaz, was incredibly skilled and had such a great, positive attitude that made the whole flight even better. He got us impressively close to the pyramids, which made the views feel surreal. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

The actual balloon ride is stunning, and Teotihuacan doesn’t disappoint on foot! I would definitely recommend this experience, but I’d make a few changes in the itinerary.
We were picked up around 5:00am and returned to our hotel around 2:30pm so it’s a full day out and you’ll be tired when you’re done.
There is a lot of upselling coming from every angle the entire day. You will be posed for photos throughout the whole balloon ride, and then they will offer you a comprehensive photo package at the end. A lot of the pictures they took were fantastic, and the additional drone footage is really cool, but the price doesn’t justify the sale when you have a cell phone with a decent camera.
Breakfast was decent, and it was nice having a mariachi band during, but it felt a little rushed due to the photo packages they were trying to sell you.
Once at Teotihuacan, there will be countless vendors selling their wares, and they are unafraid to engage with you and put things in your hands. You’ll be saying “No, Gracias” more than you’d like.
We had a pretty hot day and there was minimal shade anywhere at the site, so make sure to wear sunscreen!
Overall, this experience could benefit from small changes in the overall timing of activities.

This was amazing. It’s an early start but so worth it for the sunrise. The pick-up was really smooth and easy from a hotel nearby - it does get cold though. Then check in was quick and simple with coffee and fruit. Our pilot fernando was so fun and his playlist was on point. The actual ride is breathtaking. We went right above the ruins with loads of chances to take pics plus the basket didn’t feel too cramped. Crew was ready to pick us up at the landing point and take us for breakfast - it’s quite basic but does the job.

Did the hot air balloon experience over Teotihuacan during my solo birthday trip to CDMX and it was honestly one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.
Seeing the sunrise over the pyramids from the air was unreal and the entire experience felt very organized, safe, and smooth from start to finish.
I added the photo/drone package and while I honestly preferred a lot of my own iPhone photos, the photographer herself was SO kind and made my solo birthday feel really special, so I’m still glad I did it.
Big tip: dress in layers. It’s pretty cold before takeoff, but once you’re up in the air and the sun comes out, it gets hot very fast.
Absolutely worth the early wake-up call and one of the highlights of my CDMX trip.

Great experience, felt the breakfast was rushed though. Getting back into the city was annoying. Told to be back at 12 in front of a cafe, when you arrived they encouraged you into the cafe and delayed leaving on purpose while they encouraged you to have something to eat or drink. Left at 1230.

Thank you for your feedback, it is hard to get everyone back at the van on time and it pushes back our departure. We actually encourage our guests to check and ask for prices and avoid the pushy sellers next to the archeological site. We have no business with anyone on that area.

Great experience. We went for the basic option without pickup and their facility is very clean.
They provide coffee and light snacks on arrival and the check in process was smooth. Flight was amazing and our pilot was very professional. We flew over the pyramid at sunrise and views were spectacular
Breakfast at the end was ok but can be improved on in terms of variety. So don’t expect much.
Would recommend booking this in cdmx. A bucket list activity for sure

From pickup to the hot air balloon and pyramids, the excursion was amazing! The checkin was smooth and the hot air balloon ride was amazing. I was afraid the clouds would cover the pyramids, but it cleared out and seeing everything was great. We did our own tour and explored the pyramids until the time they said to meet to return to the hotel. Would highly recommend!

The trip was very fun, I would definitely recommend it. A few things I wish I'd known:
1. Despite what the promotional photos show, you don't necessarily fly over the pyramids. It was still a great view of the valley, and all the other balloons flying at the same time looked really cool, but I was slightly disappointed we didn't get to fly closer to the ruins. On the plus side, everyone had a good view, no one got stuck behind someone else.
2. Breakfast was fairly disappointing - think average hotel breakfast
3. Three hours was a good amount of time at the pyramids. Less than that wouldn't have been enough. We didn't have time to go to the Queztalcoatl temple, but felt like we could see everything else in three hours
4. Traffic on the way back was rough, so there was less time for the activity I had planned in the afternoon than I had thought.

Balloons respond to the wind and as much as we will love to give everyone every time the opportunity to see the pyramids up close, not everyone has that same experience., we don’t warranty the pyramids. If you check our reviews most of the time we get there, so I guess this time the wind wasn’t cooperative. Next time you fly with us let us know this so we can make arrangements. Absolutely amazing experience. A lot
Of fun, and smoothly ran. Only issue was on the drop off, they placed us in a shuttle that was not going back to the area it had picked us up from. Had to Uber back a different location, which was a bit frustrating.

Worth waking up early. Its not scary just enjoy view its beautiful.
It was fun experience, the toast at the end and breakfast, depending which ticket you purchased. I recommend bring cash, lots of souvenir vendors, at the pyramids.

Lovely balloon experience over the pyramids. We were very lucky with weather, but didn’t actually take off until after sunrise (while other companies did have their balloons in the sky for sunrise). Something to bear in mind/ ask about if you want that experience!

This was an amazing experience-Volare really has it down! I’d book with them again hands down. Everything about this experience was so great and organized, from the hotel pickup to the hot air balloon ride, to breakfast and live music, to the guided tour of the ruins and then back to the hotel. It’s definitely worth taking the guided tour option if you want to visit the ruins on foot-our guide was extremely knowledgeable and we would have missed out on a lot if we had just gone on our own. Everyone was very professional and made our experience amazing. Also the photos and drone videos for purchase after the hot air balloon ride were so cool! It was also nice to see that the Volare employees supported local vendors by giving us a chance to purchase souvenirs from local individuals both after the hot air balloon ride and at the ruins themselves. I would 100% recommend anyone wanting to visit the ruins use this tour and company. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

we booked the experience with transportation and breakfast but without the pyramids. i think this is the way to do it honestly — we woke up around 4:20am for 4:45am pickup and were back at our hotel in roma norte by 11am. this was on a friday, so you may return earlier or later depending on traffic. i preferred this because it allowed us to still have a whole day in mexico city doing other things afterward.
the balloon experience was great and felt super safe and professional, but keep in mind, even for the bigger balloons (ours had 15ppl + the driver) they are divided into smaller baskets that fit about 4 people, so you might be shifting around strangers and up close in other people’s personal space. to get good photos you have to wait for the lighting to be decent and the pyramids/balloons to be in the background, and you’re standing like 10 inches from your fellow passengers. if you’re using an iphone definitely use 0.5 lens.
my only gripe is that we saw the balloons from other companies heading up in the air before ours. i know they have to stagger timing for safety, but the sun had risen before our balloon was ready for all 15 people to get in, so by the time we got up in the air, there were lots of other balloons to look at, but they also started going down about halfway through our flight. i wish we went up about 5 -10 min earlier to truly catch the sunrise. i’m sure this also just depends on the day.

The Pyramids and balloon ride are absolutely incredible, highly recommend. The travel accommodations less so.
I want to quantify this by saying I was staying much further away from the Centro than everyone else and the driver can't control Mexico City traffic. That said, I still picked an offered pickup/drop-off point and was made to spend upwards of a 2 hours going out of the way getting everyone else to their destination, only to be told my stop was too hard to get to, without any offer of finding someplace else or trying a different route, and was asked to get out and find an Uber 4 miles away from my accommodations. Very frustrating after being the first in the car in the morning and waiting for everyone else in the evening, only to be told the round trip I paid for no longer applied.
Again, the driver can't control traffic but something more than, "it's impossible, figure it out on your own", would've been appreciated.

Next level fun. One of a kind experience. The view is spectacular and if you are worried about fear of heights or motion sickness, don't worry about either. My wife hates heights and didn't have any issues, and I get the worst motion sickness and didn't even notice we were moving ( so smooth).

Great experience. We were lucky to have perfect weather and a skilled pilot who took us directly over the pyramids. The van picked us up at our Airbnb (which was not on their usual list of places) exactly on time. Check in was very well organized, breakfast afterwards was nice too, then plenty of time to explore the Teotihaucan site. No extraneous surprise visits to tourists trap vendors, etc. Pay a little extra and get a lot more. Highly recommend!
