What are people saying about Kyoto

This has been one of the...
This has been one of the highlights of my trip. Being dressed for the tea was fun and very considerate. All the women helping were very kind and gentle. The tea ceremony was beautiful and felt so meaningful. If you’re worried about sitting for so long or have bad knees they have some mini chairs. It was a wonderful experience!

incredible experience
The experience was absolutely lovely. Yuko was the most wonderful and kind tea master. she shared the rich history of matcha, demonstrated the traditional ritual, and taught us the proper techniques. It was an extraordinary and deeply meaningful experience. It felt like such a privilege to connect with Japanese culture in this way. we even found ourselves getting a little emotional by the end.

This cooking was well...
This cooking was well over my expectations! The class was amazing, the Chef was great and the food with the alcohol was really the cherry on top. Tony was great with translating to English and the Chef was patience with everyone! Would definitely recommend! Loved it!

Lovely tea ceremony
The tea ceremony was exactly what I was looking forward to. The tea house itself has a lot of history and the tea room was one that you’d crawl into. The experience was authentic and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the tea ceremony and our host was wonderful.

Family trip, 1st time in Japan
This was a beautiful, relaxing experience- and we learned something new! We did this tea ceremony the morning of our last day in Kyoto, perfect way to end our stay and be zen before hitting the train station! We enjoyed the beautiful setting, calm presentation of the tea by the tea master and hosts and the small simple sweet treat. The tea servings are small, but perfect for this event and learning about matcha tea, really enjoyed making our own cup of tea! We recommend this tour, enjoy the calm moments while you can!

Lovely Tea Ceremony
Completed the tea ceremony and calligraphy with my husband today. I loved my kimono and hair style! The ladies were very flattering and professional as they dressed us. They even said we could wear our kimonos out all day at the end of the ceremony! My husband’s outfit was very handsome. Great photo opportunities and beautiful, authentic ceremony. Amazing for the price!! Amazing for any price!

An Absolute Must 🥷♥️
Amazing experience - we had a great time and feel much more dangerous today 😆 The instructor & photographer/stunt woman were very friendly and flexible. The instructor is very experienced and there's a clear lethality to his movements - absolutely no gimmicks. We loved every minute. Highly recommend - worth every penny 🥷♥️

A wonderful afternoon.
I booked this for my partner who tells me she had great fun. It provided a good overview of the traditional dress and tea ceremony, without being too formal. The ceremony itself takes about 45 minutes and whilst you can sit on the floor, there are low stools available if you’d rather not. You are able to stay in your kimono for a while after the ceremony has taken place (if you want to), giving you lots of photo opportunities. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

This is a must
Wow! This was amazing. We got to hold ancient Samurai swords, learn about Zen meditation and its importance in focusing the mind for Samurai. We then learned proper sword technique and did real sword practice! So much more in depth than we had imagined. Must do!

From our first step into...
From our first step into the door, all the ladies were very inviting and kind. The process of the tea ceremony was educational but heart felt. The tea master made the experience even more of a special experience. We very much enjoyed this experience and will treasure it forever.

Fun experience!
Fantastic experience and very interesting learning the history of ninja and samurai. Our 6 year old son loved the ninja star throwing, looking at all the different costumes and weapons. He was so happy he could dress up as a ninja and get photos!
Our tour guide Raito was amazing. He provided a lot of information and made the whole experience fun and interesting! Would recommend the skip the lines for sure!

Best Experience Ever!
Riku provided the best experience I’ve encountered thus far on my Japan Visit. I feel like I went through actual training to become a Samurai. I am grateful for the knowledge this museum had to offer. Thank you also to Riu for taking us on a guided tour and allowing us to interact with the history through artifacts.
