Amazing sacred mountain lake
Just finished today's excursion and it has been very beautiful.
Though I initially had difficulties to get in contact with the organizing agency and needed to go via Viator customer support, once I could communicate with them, everything went very smoothly and satisfying.
It's probably mentioned in other reviews, one should absolutely factor in the rental of a horse, especially going up to the lake. The hike is very steep and demanding which can easily turn a potentially amazing excursion sour, if you get exhausted and fight with high altitude sickness symptoms instead of taking in the beautiful scenery all around. The little mountain stream you find next to the path is a little marvel all by itself.
Jonathan was a very caring, professional and entertaining guide who did a great job and we were also blessed with a very gentle driver, Cirio, who made us feel very safe so that we could get some needed rest before and after the hike.

This tour is a great way to check out Sacred Valllley
Joining this tour is a great way to visit Sacred Vally. Our tour guide is Cesar. He is very knowledgeable and very good at explaining things in English. The tour was not too long. The scenery was beautiful. We learned a lot from the tour. Definitely recommend this tour.

If traveling during the...
We couldn’t be happier with this excursion. Out tour guide Edgar was so awesome. Tons of value with this purchase. We would highly recommend this excursion.
There are additional costs associated with this excursion, 60 Soles per person to get a ride to the top of the mountain and back down on a motorcycle. If you do want to skip taking a motorcycle to the top and back down, bring comfortable walking boots because it’s a 75 minute walk up, and a 60 minute walk down.
If traveling during the dry season, bring warm clothing and a good pair of outdoor boots. Prepare for the possibility of high elevation sickness.

Rainbow Mountain
José is an amazing tour guide. He is very talkative and friendly. He picked the best time for the rainbow mountain, it starts to rain shortly after we start to descend. We didn’t bring any cash and he paid the entrance fee for us and we paid him when we are back in Cusco. He also took care of my friend when she had severe AMS, giving her meds and called a horse to carry her. We are very grateful for him and happy about the experience

Fantastic Day and Good Food
It was a jam-packed day with 8 stops. The trip was great, and I saw most of the Inca places I wanted to see in one day. Only comment is that it would have been nice to have another 30 minutes at Sacred Valley, otherwise I have nothing to complain. Highly recommended. The tour guide Abel was awesome.

Great tour
Great Tour, went all the way to the summit to have a great view of rainbow mountain and the surrounding snow capped peaks.
Our guide Roy was awesome, he made sure everybody was ok and kept us informed of everything.
I did not have my phone with me, but Roy let me borrow his phone to take all the pictures I wanted. That’s awesome customer Service.
Take altitude meds if you’re feeling off prior to this tour 🥴

Amazing Day Trip
I had an awesome time on this trip. I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. It was my first time on a quad bike but the guide Joel was very easy to learn from and he trusted us.
Felt a lot of freedom on the trip, and he was very knowledgeable about the two stops. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking to spend an afternoon doing something unique in the Sacred Valley.

Beautiful lake with stunning snow covered mountains in the background
This tour company took really good care of us. They gave us clear instructions the night before (be sure to have whatsapp on your phone). Pickup was on time and the transportation to and from the lake was smooth and orderly (during pickup, we had to wait 25 minutes for a group of six inconsiderate guests to get ready, which caused pickup of subsequent guests to be delayed, but that was not the tour company's fault).
The included breakfast and lunch were greatly appreciated and the food for good.
Once we got to the base of the mountain, we had to hike a ways to get to the horse stables. That portion of the hike is flat but the rest of the way up to Humantay Lake is quite steep so we decided to take some horses up the mountain (you can hike up yourself if you prefer). It cost 80 Soles for each horse, but beware that if you are a bit heavy, they may charge you extra. Note that the horses are managed by another outfit and this tour operator has nothing to do with the horses. The trek up the mountain was fine for a while but something spooked my horse and it bucked me off, causing me to fall on my back. Fortunately, I was not seriously injured. They gave me another horse and the rest of the ride up was uneventful. At the horse dropoff point, you still need to hike a little further to get to the Lake. Once you get there, the view is beautiful, with the turquoise color of the lake and the stunning mountain backdrop forming a great background for a gorgeous picture. On the way back, we hiked about halfway down the mounting and picked up a ride that took us all the way back to the bus parking area. This cost us 30 Soles per person. This was of course the easy way to do the tour but after doing Rainbow Mountain the day before, we were exhausted and appreciated having the easy option. You can of course walk the whole way back to the bus parking area if you prefer. Overall, our guide Bryan was wonderful (he was the one who arranged the ride back to the parking area). He kept track of everyone the whole way and was very patient. Overall, this was a very worthwhile experience and a great value for the buck. Finally, be sure to tip these guys. They work really hard for you. Enjoy!
