Delft is one of the Netherlands' most beautifully preserved medieval cities, and it also happens to be a great place to try out some local snacks. On this self-guided audio tour, you'll trace Delft's history from its medieval brewing empire to its enduring food traditions, discovering how canals, trade, and a few catastrophic accidents shaped this remarkable city. The tour starts at the Markt, Delft's vast central square, where a weekly market has been held since the 1100s. From there, you'll wind through the city's historic core, past the Beestenmarkt: a former cattle market now lined with cafés and along quiet streets where Johannes Vermeer once lived with his wife, 11 children, and mother-in-law. You'll also stop at the Prinsenhof, the former monastery that served as headquarters for Willem van Oranje during the Dutch war of independence from Spain. The tour ends at Stads-Koffyhuis, a charming café where you can try Dutch apple pie made from a recipe first printed in 1514.

Discover the gritty, brilliant, and unexpected true story of Delft Blue. This isn't just a tale of pretty plates; it's a saga of polluted water, economic desperation, corporate espionage, and chemical alchemy. Join Clara, an art and design historian, and Paul, a local expert who knows the city's hidden secrets, as they guide you through the transformation of a cheap 17th-century knock-off into a global luxury icon. From bullet-riddled courtyards to the blistering heat of the last surviving kilns, you will never look at a blue-and-white vase the same way again. - A 2.8 km self-guided tour with 6 stops over 96 min - Ideal for travelers interested in Art, Design & Aesthetics and History & Memory - Immersively told in a podcast style by experts and locals - Matching audio content, AI guide and navigation through the app

Cycle through Delft with your own private guide on a city bike from Hotel Arsenaal. Ride to the Oostpoort, the only Delft city gate still standing, then stop on the Markt, between the Stadhuis (City Hall) and the Nieuwe Kerk, where William of Orange is buried. Follow the Oude Delft canal to the leaning tower of the Oude Kerk, Vermeer's final resting place, and pass by the Prinsenhof, where William of Orange was shot in 1584. On the Hooikade you stand where Vermeer painted his famous "View of Delft" around 1660. The last stop is Agnetapark, a 19th-century garden village built for the workers of a yeast factory, before you ride back to Hotel Arsenaal. Delft is flat and compact, so the pace stays relaxed, with time for photos at every stop. This is a private guided experience, just for you and your group.
